☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

I was surprised this game had so few reviews, because this is a really lovely little logic puzzler.

The conceit is that you flip these bars over each other - you can’t flip ones in the middle, you have to flip from the outside in. It’s basic, but has a great learning curve and gets exponentially harder as you go along. It’s rhythmic and soothing. Most importantly, the sound design is spectacular. There’s a wonderful tactile sensation of moving and flipping these pieces with a little ‘whoosh’ and a ‘click’ as they land in place that sounds so good I can feel it in my finger tips. It absolutely became hypnotic - that 17 hours of playtime was over the past two days. It was pretty hard to stop.

It’s also very hard to master. I initially went with the intention of mastering all of these puzzles - that is, solve them in the minimum amount of steps. That ended… fairly quickly. I’m smart, but not this kind of smart. So I resolved to just beat it instead. Still counts as a backlog assassination, right?

If you’d like to add to YOUR backlog, and like cute little puzzle games, you could do a lot worse than Flip.

Bonus: I finished Persona 5 today and it was great and I had such a fun time and Makoto is best girl.

Next up: More hidden object goodness for the monthly theme!

See you soon!
