#15 Monthly Status Update (September 2019)

Hi everyone! I can’t believe I’m saying it this way, but it’s FINALLY the end of summer holidays!!! And what that means for me is that I FINALLY got answers to a bunch of questions and doubts that were spacing me out for the last few months. Firstly, I managed to both get a bachelor’s degree and qualify for the second cycle of my studies!!!!! :D It was a tremendously hard task, some requirements were really hard to meet (eg. scoring at least 80% of points in one of my exams to even have the slightest chance to pass the course, which was due to the fact that I’ve only acquired a small fraction of the points from the tasks other than the exam), but in the end I somehow managed to pull them all off :)

Besides that, most of the other exciting stuff I expected to be able to share with you this month either got postponed for the n-th time in the row (getting a new PC…) or didn’t happen at all. Still, I’m so happy that I’m actually continuing my studies that I don’t really care about the stuff that didn’t go as planned these holidays ;D

But wait… doesn’t this all mean that the next 2 years are going to be an another period of my life with only small amounts of free time I could use for backlog fighting? Oh well… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Theres such a big contrast between the games you acquired it ends up being kinda obvious what you most likely got from trading. The rest i barely know that it ends up making more sense that they were won or bundled

Try listing the ones you think I traded for. I’m interested to see how many matches you get! ;)

Well when I look at it now instead of when I was tired it also makes me wonder if the numbers are how you do it. So that the last 8 will be the trade or whether but looking at your wins confirms to me thats not how you did it. They also confirm to me that those aren’t the ones I was suspecting anyway.

Now I don’t pay attention to bundles so I can’t say I recognise any being in them plus they could easily be old keys which for some reason you just activated. However going off bundles with games I know that were at least recent it ruins whatever I was thinking off last night in my weird mood with games like speedrunners, party hard 2 and no time to explain

My initial thoughts though didn’t actually include 8, it more like as I said I recognise games like contrast and just cause so at 1st glance it seems those would be traded. So initial guesses from 1st glance would’ve been contrast, both just causes, party hard 2, speedrunners, ultimate chicken horse and no time to explain. If I was to add that 8th in most likely pixel story

My guesses now is hard. I don’t know how long you take to go through old keys so a bundle from like 2 or even 5 years ago wouldn’t matter. So my best guess would be to simply get rid of the 3 mentioned above that I knew were bundled in the last year and say you ended up trading for tales, golden wake and chariot. Since I don’t trade I can’t even say if certain games you acquired would even be worth much

Wow, I didn’t expect a full on analysis post, but it was nice to read :D

The “4 from SG, 3 from bundles, 8 from trades” part is in pretty much random order. The list of games is ordered by the date I redeemed them - after adding a new game to my library I always go to BLAEO and put the new game at the end of the list.

The games I got from trades are: A Golden Wake, A Pixel Story, Chariot, Contrast, Just Cause, Just Cause 2, Tales [PC] and Party Hard 2 - all were previously wishlisted by me. I got the first 7 games in a single trade (and that’s why they are next to each other on the list - I redeemed them the same day). I had BATTLETECH from the last Monthly, I didn’t care about it, but as a pricey headline it had a high trade value and it allowed me to get a lot of wishlisted previously bundled low-value games at once :)

I actually have A LOT of unredeemed bundle keys, the oldest 2 being from 2014 and most of them being from 2016 onward, since that’s when I actually started visiting Humble on a regular basis. Because I already have a huge backlog I only redeem my bundle keys if I actually plan to play the game in the near future. This approach also allows me to have a long list of potential giveaway games for trains and if I ever actually acknowledge that the amount of the games I have is totally overwhelming and I’ll never actually manage to play even half of them, go on a giveaway spree of some sorts ;)

Ultimate Chicken Horse and SpeedRunners were two games from 2017 bundles I intentionally added to my library (and the Speedrunners key apparently also activated No Time To Explain Remastered which is from the same publisher) since after my repeat exam session I still had a couple weeks of free time before the start of a new academic year and had an opportunity to organize a couple all day 4-player couch gaming sessions. We usually just play TowerFall Ascension at those, slowly working on 100%-ing it, but at the last session, a few months ago, one of my friends asked if we could sometimes switch games for more variety. So before inviting them this month, I looked through my stupidly long Steam key list and picked 2 new local multiplayer games. In the end, we again ended up playing only Towerfall, but at least now I also have other stuff installed and ready if this question ever comes up again ;)

oh you got alot of games in 1 trade
