Arbiter Libera

How was Obra Dinn for you? I heard nothing but praises for it online.

oh, really good. extremely unique too. this was actually my second time beating it to grab one final achievement i had missed. basically you play as an old-timey insurance investigator for an old-timey company. a ship showed up to dock with only a few dead bodies on board, and many, many missing people. you have to work backwards using a compass/watch/tool thing that helps you to deduce the crew’s fate. you have a notebook you use to match names to faces and figure out how they died (or went missing). this is all done through short “scenes”. the scenes aren’t actually animated, but there is sound/dialogue that comes in handy and you can walk around it to help find clues or your next body. at the end of the game, you should have a complete picture of everything that happened on the ship since it set sail. i don’t wanna spoil anything, but i will say the story anything but boring. i can’t really think of any other games to compare it to though i guess it’d fall under something of a puzzle walking simulator.

Arbiter Libera

That sounds great. So it has legit puzzles and not just “go from point A to point B” kind of setup?

eh, i guess not really ‘puzzles’ as the traditional definition. it’s more of a logical deduction by watching and listening to the scenes of the crew. it’s a unique game.
