Update 16: Second week of August

Another week is already done and dusted and I have a little progress to report.

Games I’ve beaten this week:

7 Wonders: The Treasures of Seven

I have now played a lot of the 7 Wonders games, but this is probably my favourite one so far. Each level consists of two stages. In the first stage you have to clear all the fields of your board of the underlying tiles. To do that you have to simply match 3 or more stones above them. Once you cleared everything, phase two will start. There will be new lines on the board and a cube will appear that needs to be brought to a certain taget. In order to do so you have to again match 3 or more stones to move the cube. Since the cube can only fall down you need to turn the whole board to the left or right in order to get it to the desired target. Of course like always there are special stones, that will get rid of a whole row or even more, that you'll get for breaking more then 4 stones, but that is the same in every match-3 game. These two phases made a real difference for me, since you had to think a lot about how you would get the cube to it's destination. I enjoyed it very much.

I've played this one for the BLAEO challenge where you should play a previously unfinished game.

I really like this one. It's a kinetic novel dealing with loss/mental health issues.
This is what makes it quite problematic to follow the storyline in the beginning since the protagonist has hallucinations and jumps between past and present and hallucinations without any delay.
This will happen throughout the whole novel, so honestly I made a spreadsheet with all the different names and people and places. Who they were, if it was past or present or hallucination, because I think otherwise I would have lost the plot several times.

I can't really write more about it without giving away the plot, but I enjoyed it very much. Otherwise I would not have sat through 30h of it XD

I also started three more games this week. Reviews will follow next week :

I’m the same this month. I just keep adding them to my backlog. But I guess… it’s the backlogs revenge for not buying a game during steam summer sale :D

Good luck playing them :)

samwise84

Well I’ve bought my fair share during summer sale, so not sure if my backlog has any reason to seek revenge XD

ninglor03

Maaaaaaybe it’s more of a “the more, the better” thingy then :D

samwise84

“misery loves company” maybe?

ninglor03

Hehe, yeah, maybe :]

I was bored while playing Distraint, I hope you like it better.

samwise84

Not really :( Honestly I find the story simplistic or even childish. But I was challenged to play it and luckily it is not that long. Maybe it will get better to the end, but I don’t have high hopes.

aonrao

I don’t think it gets better at the end… But yeah, it’s pretty short, so that’s good at least.

Wow, 30 hours of sitting through a kinetic novel with a spreadsheet at hand. That must be a really good KN! Speaking of good: I saw you bought the Dungeon Siege series. DS II was one of the best games I played 2018/19. I hope you enjoy it at least half as much as I did :)

samwise84

I will. I love the series, which is why I bought them :)

samwise84

LMAO

well it was not that bad

Noble Gamer

You should know that 5 years after Garfield Kart was released, their first ever Steam news for the game announced that multiplayer was added as an opt-in Beta feature.
Also, Garfield Kart Furious Racing is coming to PC and all consoles in November.

samwise84

Thanks for letting me know :)
