Hello and welcome to my first post! I made my BLAEO account a little while ago, but it was right before exams, which probably wasn’t the smartest idea :P
Anyway, I’m on holidays now, so hopefully I should have a lot more time to work on this! My backlog is something I’ve been wanting to work on for a while, even before I knew specifically about BLAEO.

Enough about me, I thought I’d start off with a game that I was able to more or less finish in one sitting last night - The Silent Age. I’m not a fan of point & click games at all, but this one looked interesting enough and I entered some giveaways, winning it a few weeks ago.
Man, did I enjoy this game! The storyline was great, and I really loved its believable take on time travel.
In the one playthrough, I got 13/24 achievements. Most of them are story-activated, meaning you’ll unlock them without having to do anything apart from just playing the game. The rest come from trying different things that don’t actually work, for example: trying to use a car battery with a dead guy, lmao
So, with the help of a guide, expect to see this game in my “Completed” category soon with 100% achievements ;)

Welcome to Blaeo! I also really enjoyed The Silent Age. The puzzles aren’t frustrating and the story is so interesting.

Thank you!

Agreed, this was a good one. I don’t mind referring to a guide once in a while but it’s nice when you don’t have to. The time travel mechanic makes the puzzles quite interesting.

JumpOffACliffy

True that! Fortunately, I only needed to refer to the guide for the achievements, as they were generally earned by doing ~unusual things :P

Welcome to BLAEO, and good luck with the battle ahead :D I’m another one who enjoyed The Silent Age - I’d be glad to play more games of this length that tell a short scifi story.

JumpOffACliffy

Thank you! Yeah more games like this would be great! If we all didn’t have such long backlogs, I suppose :P

Yeah, welcome aboard. :D

BLAEO has done wonders for me in terms of playing games. I guess it helps to have a place you can vent at or put a constructive piece down?

Good game to start with. I was surprised to see they have these goof achievements for silly actions you can do, yeah. Kinda wish it was longer and not as telegraphed as you get more towards the end.

JumpOffACliffy

Sure does! I’m like brand new and it’s already helped me. The game itself was pretty good. I was getting a little bit bored towards the end, because I could see where it was going - both the story and what to do to solve the puzzles. Was a bit annoying they make you run pretty far back and forth just to get to what you need. Oh well.

Welcome aboard! Hope you have a nice battle ahead.

Yeah you’ll have a good time during the exam mate lol jk. This reminds me to try The Silent Age out, been interested in it since I first discovered it on Android.

Cheers! Wow, you have the biggest backlog I have seen so far (I’m sure there’s worse, I just haven’t been exposed to it yet!) Would 100% recommend The Silent Age. Pretty relaxing 3-4 hours, and you can tick off a game as completed straight away! Good luck man!

ZephyrusRaine

Uh thanks I guess lol, not exactly proud of my backlog amount. It’s grown so massive thanks to bundles; I probably won’t even know half of my games without looking at their screenshots first.

Prior to using Steam I used to start games and not play them to completion. I’m trying to minimize that now so that’s why you see a lot of games in my account are barely touched. There definitely are people with more massive backlog than mine though. For starters some of my Steam friends even have 10k or 9k something games lmao.

Thanks for the recommendation! Would try The Silent Age as a break between longer games. Good luck on your backlog battle, fellow assassin.
