#4 Monthly Status Update (October 2018)
Hi everyone! This month was the start of a 3rd year of my studies, but thankfully I still had time to improve my stats by a tiny bit :)
Out of the games I finished this month the weren’t any actual must plays, but the best one was 10 Second Ninja X - a good precision platformer which really shows that the devs poured a lot of love into it. It has a “when you die it’s your fault” feel, requires much faster button presses than eg. Super Meat Boy, but from an achievement hunter’s perspective is also significantly easier than the said game. That’s because even though there is an achievement for beating each chapter timed and without dying, the chapters are much shorter and a successful run never takes more than 1.5 minutes. It doesn’t have a soundtrack as good as many of my favorite platformers, but its tunes are still really pleasant to me after the 20h of play. A simple story and a really nicely constructed hub are nice additions. If you like precision platformers it’s at least worth considering.

What do you think about Legends of Eisenwald? I played it for couple of hours with a Knight hero, but was still just in the first chapter.
It’s a light RPG game. The story, side-quests and writing are enjoyable. Battle results are mostly determined by your characters’ classes and their equipment. Despite the Steam tags I definitely wouldn’t call it a strategy game. I have absolutely no experience with games from this “King’s Bounty like” genre so I have no idea how it compares to the other ones, but I have fun with this one.
I really liked how it incorporated stuff like folk tales and grounded setting, some witches notwithstanding. Sure, you could complain stories could’ve just been condensed to simple objectives, but I like the fluff.
Have you tried any of the DLC?
You’re right, I also really like this aspect of the game.
I still haven’t finished the main game, but I’ll probably skip the additional content. The standalone expansions have mixed reviews and the one real DLC doesn’t look all that time-worthy to me. I’ll probably reach around 60h before completing the game 100% and that will already be more than enough for me for this kind of game. The combat is getting repetitive at this point ;)
