There is a bit of monotony in scores…

A platformer with 100 endings, where almost everything you do can result in ending. Kill a random guy - ending. Jump into a pit - ending. Fall in love with a stone (yup…) - ending. I really like the concept and discovering ridiculous endings was fun. But at the same time it could get a bit tiring. Your mission is to rescue a princess, and there are at least 10 endings depending on what you will do with the princess. But for this you need to go and rescue her 10 times… There are some shortcuts you can unlock, which are making the task much easier, but it can still get boring, especcially if you don’t know, what to do. I ended up finding around 70 endings myself, and the rest I just went with a walktrough, to have this game officially done.

My game for the monthly oceanic theme. For some strange reasons, I was sure this game is FPP swimming sim. It’s not. This is a 2d puzzle game, where you are a.. wave? Something like this. You are going through the ocean, visit some very pretty enviroments, and doing puzzles, which are base both on riddles, and your speed. The game is full with little educational notes, which, I must say, most of them I didn’t know, and has strong ecological vibe (you know - Coral Reef). It’s really, really pretty, and quite short. My only problem is that sometimes I felt I would like it better, if I could just swim through those levels and admire the view, without stopping, and solving riddles. But all in all - it was really nice.

Another puzzle platformer. I played way too many of them lately… this one is a sci fi game, where you are a little blob, constructed in laboratory and sent to the rescue. I liked the gameplay, the game is really pretty, but there are two problems: The first one - the game felt into a trap “lets do the last bossfights really hard”. With every problem of this - fake deaths, starting a long bossfight from the beginning, if you fell on the last stage… After a few tries I didn’t enjoy them I just wanted to be done with them. I spent around an hour on the last part of the game, so it wasn’t Dark Souls hard, but it was annoying. And the second problem - the story, which was just waaaaaaay to complicated. I mean - it has almost every sci fi trope I can imagine - alien planet, evil corporations, another dimensions, aggresive aliens, experiments on humans, zombies, sentient AI… way, way to much for me. And everything you learnt from bit and pieces of informations, in good popular “let’s player work to piece it together” way. But I saw that a lot of people like this story, so maybe it’s just my problem…

I really thought Koral was a swimming sim as well, so appreciate the heads up!

Your description of MO:Astray is my experience with a lot of 2D platformers in the past year or two. Even when I love ‘em, the final boss area tests my patience…with a lot of restarting from the very beginning and getting so close yet so far. Definitely puts a damper on things after a certain point, especially when you’ve been playing a while so can feel yourself getting tired and reflexes slowing down a bit. But don’t wanna stop either and then have to re-get into the groove immediately at a boss the next time you play. hah Normally try to take small breaks to stop myself from getting frustrated but can be rough.

You should try you luck with a slot machine, with those triple 7s. :D Hope you enjoy whatever games you play next.

Oh damn i was really interested in MO: Astray. I guess still i will give it a try but this sentence hurts; “lets do the last bossfights really hard.” This is true for the most of the indie game, that are 2d platformers, i have played recently. I even didn’t finish Dandara’s dlc because of this.
