Aquilla

Finished in April (1-4)

I actually finished my Big game for a month quite early, and then decided to play some little free games I had in my backlog for a while.

A little, cute and very weird adventure game. Has unique artstyle, simple story, puzzles aren’t very complicated but are enjoyable. A nice little distraction.

My big game for April. I must confess - I really don’t like Dark Souls. I tried to play them 3 times, and dropped them each time. But this game I really digged in. It is basically a Dark Souls clone, but more focused on shooting and definietely easier. It was challenging but I never was completely stuck, and it dropped the most annoying thing in dark souls - I didn’t get punished for dying, so I could grind without worrying to much. I heard a lot of opinions that it is buggy or looks awful but honestly I didn’t see any major bugs, and the graphics were fine. Maybe they patched the bugs. The story is basic and not really interesting, which is a shame. You have a base with some people in it but they have very little dialogues and after a while they are basically walking shops. Other than that - I had a lot of fun.

I finished this in 13 minutes. Its just a walking sim, with a couple of notes and 2 or 3 places where you need to use an item. This is a kind of game that is made when you are learning how to code games. But the artstyle is nice, and backstory of the world is a bit interesting so I didn’t mind wasting a couple of minutes on it.

Technically it’s a nice puzzle game. I wouldn’t be mad if I had to pay one or two dollars for it. Looks nice, has some good music, the gameplay is smooth. My biggest problem - I really dont like this kind of puzzle, where you have 30 steps to do and you need to do everyone exacly how the devs designed, because there is only one narrow path to solve the puzzle. I finished it with the solution. But this is more my problem, than game’s.
