    I thought the game would be something like Ori b/c it looks like it was at least inspired by it. Let's start with the good things about it first.

    The art! It's so damn beautiful! I loved how they drew the fox and if you watch closely the fox runs and jumps exactly how foxes run and jump. It's a really small detail but it impressed me pretty much. But everything else was beautiful designed too. Then there was the music. Really calm and happy. Great soundtrack even if it sometimes felt like it'd mock me. I ran left, I ran right, I didn't know what to do, where to go and the music was happily humming.

    And the german voices were actually good!? That's not common so brownie point!

    I'd say the story is neutral? Because srsly. I didn't get it. You can divide the game in two parts but the transition of part one to part two was already confusing for me. I didn't get the ending either. They tried to explain what happens but well. Maybe I'm too stupid. Also what the heck. The guardian asks the fox if there's something they can do for him in return and then they say “no we can't do that.” and the credits roll. Well, thanks for nothing? Then there's the true end which shows the reunion but... nope, still don't get it.

    I'd consider the gameplay neutral too. I liked the speed of the fox and loved the idea with controlling the four seasons to solve puzzles. But sometimes it really fucked me up and felt clunky. Standing jump isn't good ever and you'd miss the next platform almost every time if you try.

    What I'd call the worst of this game is that there's no map. No fast travel. So it took me about five hours to beat it but if I would have had a map it probably only would've taken less time. Because what I did most of the time wasn't finding out how to solve the puzzles but to find the way to get somewhere x_x You activate something and a not skipable cutscene shows you where it is and you have to recognize it's location by remembering the background but tbh I thought everything looks the same and I ran most of the time in the wrong direction at first. In part two you open new ways in the area you just cleared. But you're being send back anyway. So running all the way back for searching for the new path, finally found it, cleared it and... then you're not being send back. Just... why? It felt like the game wanted to extend the gameplay by force by making you searching and running back and forth all the time. Which was annoying and really strained my nerves. Oh and for the achievements I have to find every flowers to bloom. No. Thank you, but no. I won't search the whole area for small details if I already had trouble finding the big ones. <_<

    Let's face the truth: This game looks ugly and like trash. When it was for free a couple of weeks ago I wasn't sure if I even want to add this to my backlog. But some people said it's not that bad and guess what? They were actually right.

    Instead of just clicking attack you also have to use gestures to ensure your attack. This is good but also this is bad. I must admit it was fun to play this and it's at least something new and can't get repetitive although sometimes it made me really angry. Playing only with your mouse isn't always to work out and most of the time I was too fast with the arrows and too slow with the circles because you also have to time your gestures. Like rhythm games but without the rhythm? I think it would be a better mobile game. I also tried to play it with my graphic tablet but that was even worse. Also abilities can as every other attack fail if you're too bad with the gestures. And that can reaaaally become annoying as you pay energy for it which you don't have much of. Some abilities were also too difficult for me to trigger so I ended up using only 1-2 for each character. Oh, and the patterns change depending on your level or weapon or skilled abilities?? Idk why it changes but some attacks/abilities that I was good in at first became horrible for me.

    The story is kinda cliché. Bad king wants to marry good princess, princess doesn't want to and instead of that the king searches for a new wife to marry they have to fight each other. You have three characters on your party; the strong one, the healer and the tank.

    Humor wasn't mine either. Tbh I only liked this game for it's gameplay even if it can be frustrating and hard but I had my fun with it anyway. And I still think the game looks ugly :P

    AER – Memories of Old

    This kind of reminded me of Zelda. Without enemies... or weapons or battles... But with the temples, the puzzles within those and finding the shards, searching for the right way and having fun with exploration. Tbh I really wouldn't have minded if the game contained some enemies. Flying was a really great feature and there are so many islands in the sky to explore!

    Although I had my fun with AER I'm sad about it's flaws. Exploring was really unrewarding for me. You find a hidden cave and the only thing you get is a really short conversation and not even an achievement. There are a lot of islands, everything really beautiful designed, but in the end rather empty if you can't find something. You have a map but the names of the locations aren't written there and there is also no mark which island you already visited so I lost a lot of my motivation to fully explore everything, sadly. That's why I'd say some enemies and therefore some chests with equipment to find wouldn't have hurt the game, but that's only my personal preference. I bet for others the calm atmosphere with nothing that kills you was perfect. And it is indeed a really relaxing game.

    I kind of don't like point & click games as much as I once used to but this one was great! It has an interesting story and the solutions to puzzles were never too hard or abstract and it was almost ever clear what to do next. And if not there weren't that many locations to visit again. Combinations always made sense which isn't something to count on in this genre. Talking to the characters were also interesting and I really was hooked up about the story and what happened in August '81.

    While the story processes it gets more mystic. That's just my personal preference but I didn't like it that much and I may have liked it better if it was from start to finish realistic but it was good in any way. I really enjoyed playing this one and truly hope for a new game! I still want to know some unanswered questions :v

    This game was for free some weeks ago and as I was challenged with it, so I grabbed my best friend and we played it together. Sadly it seems that there aren't many players out there and hence there aren't many updates either. Which truly is a shame! It's a fun game, really. But after some matches it becomes boring playing on the same map again like three rounds before and there only exist three abilities; one of those unchangeable. Instead there are loot boxes with a lot of visual customization but we. wanted. abilities!

    I already played this game back when it came out and it was the very first game I played with the keyboard rather than a controller. And heck did I suck.

    I'm better with WASD now but I also got a controller for the computer so I didn't suck that much this time :P The other thing I had and still have my problems with is that because english isn't my foreign language I found it really struggling to listen to the narrator while playing the game and I missed a lot of the story. I did better this time because I already knew what will happen and could more focus on the why instead of the what. But yes, strictly speaking that's the only reason I can't give this game a full heart rating. I still had to read some answers online for my questions after completing the game.

    Bastion is... a very depressive game tbh. The setting is really heavy and imo it has some of the strongest scenes I have ever seen in a video game. For me it was not possible to be happy after the game ended but instead I was left sad. But also if a game manages to evoke such feelings inside of you that means it's definitely it's money worth, isn't it?

    Also I love it's soundtrack! I listen to some of those songs since 2011 and even go that far to say Bastion and Transistor have one of the best soundtracks ever made for video games. (Thank you Ashley Barrett for your beautiful voice!)

    Leviathan: The Cargo

    I truly loved the previous game Leviathan: The Last Day of The Decade so I was eager to play this one. Sadly it's not following the story of Kael but instead introduces new characters which... yeah I didn't bother about them at all. The story is extremely poor written and I couldn't care less about it. Also this game was abandoned so there isn't even much about it. It took about 1,5h to complete everything and the only thing that mattered to me was when finally Kael showed up – for about 5 minutes, then his route ended because it wasn't developed any further.

    What a shame. I was hoping The Cargo would've been longer, maybe at least one route being completed before abandoning this game which is not the case. The developer said that the game would have 20 chapters for the main route an he quit after 5 chapters so all you're able to play is the very beginning, not able to get warm with the characters or the story. The chapters with gameplay (there are two) are about two minutes long. Though the plan of this game – being a gameplay driven visual novel with dungeons and logic puzzles didn't sound that bad especially because I really do care about it's universe and wanted to know more about it. Guess I have to replay The Last Day of The Decade someday. Because I miss it.

    Nothing much to say here. It wasn't fun at all, not even rewarding when finally beating a level. I was already sick after a half one and basically only completed this because it didn't took THAT long to beat. Very frustrating trash.

Mostly because I was too bad. I thought it would be more of a simulation but it definately is not and the pets die far too fast. So it just wasn’t my type of game :/

Is it bad or is it not your type of game? Or both? It’s on my wishlist, that’s why I’m asking. If it’s a bad game that’s not worth my time, I’d rather not spend any money on it =D

That’s difficult for me to say! Tbh I didn’t like it at all but I don’t think it’s bad per se. Would I recommend it? No. But that’s because I thought of it being completely different than what it was in the end and also rather boring. Only some wrong movements/decisions and it’s game over, right at the beginning. I’d say it really depends on what type of games you like so better you watch some gameplay videos (wish I had <.<)

And congrats on the gaming progress! I strongly agree with your opinion on AER. My favorite part was just flying around but the game itself was a bit too empty.

Why did you dislike Magicka 2? I thought it was a somewhat enhanced Magicka.

Magicka 2 was too linear with almost no exploration and too many enemies which were thrown at you. I play Magicka with friends and the most fun is just random casting spells on your teammate for some good laughs but Magicka 2 was too stressful for that so we went back to 1 :/
