Played as part of the Xbox Game Pass for PC: Forza Horizon 4, Super Lucky’s Tale, The Gardens Between, Vampyr. I subscribed for another month because the games included in the pass are just too good (with the exception of Vampyr <_<). I’m actually really excited about these subscription services - I already liked Origin Access before but what Microsoft and Ubisoft are doing is even better. Looking forward to September and the free UPlay pass!

adil

Oh Ubisoft is doing a free month? Might be worth checking it out but honestly 15€/month for mostly Assassin’s Creed games and Far Cry games… For less than 3 months of Ubi pricing I have a year of Xbox Pass PC! I dont think they’ll revise their pricing, but if they do I might consider it.

However, for free, I might check it out since it’s been a while that I played any Assassin games.

Oh Ubisoft is doing a free month?

Yup, check it out! I agree that 15€/month is a bit much but I’ll gladly resubscribe once Watch Dogs: Legion is out and try to finish it within the month. It’s a really good deal for new releases, just not as much for the old ones.
From the more recent AC games I’ve only played Origins and I like the direction they took with it. I’ll be busy with Odyssey in September. :) Don’t know which one you played last, but it seems fine to just jump to the last two games in the franchise if you want to.

adil

My last was Brotherhood (so close to 9 years ago haha). But yeah I’ll probably go with AC Origins to try the franchise again. It was the one that mildly caught my interest again so it’s a good enough excuse to try that free month.

By the way, I forgot to ask but what’s bad about Vampyr? I downloaded it already because it looked pretty interesting but maybe I should delete it already? xD

skanda

Not much different from my AC history, then. :) The last one I finished was Brotherhood but I also played half of Revelations and a bit of IV.

It’s difficult to explain what my problem with Vampyr was… The combat felt clunky, the game seemed bland, boring and I was literally falling asleep while playing it which NEVER happens to me (I also almost never give up on games…). The visuals are boring, the music is boring, the voice acting is boring and there was nothing else to actually pull me in. I also noticed that some reviews mentioned the auto save system being utterly bad (saving at the worst times, for example once you’ve used up pretty much everything you have so now you have no way of beating the boss) and I didn’t want to suffer through 10-15 hours of a game I didn’t enjoy just so I’d possibly not be able to even finish it at the end. /rant mode off
It seems to have ratings hovering around 70-75 so I guess might as well give it a go and see if you like it? I guess it’s good enough for the 1€/$/GBP price. :D

adil

Oh yeah the infamous saving while you’re out of potions with one heart left on a final boss with not enough strength to beat it anyway but you’re stuck because all doors are locked until you kill it xD

Well, it seems like Vampyr bore you to death so I’ll push it down my backlog. There are still many options for me to play, I just wanted a nice action game to play. But there’s the new Middle Earth one (it’s 98gb to download!), I loved the first one so I can try this new one instead!

I’ve been eyeing Shadow of War as well, but there are so many good games to choose from in the pass, help!

But yeah, if you want a nice action game, then I don’t think Vampyr is what you’re after… The lack of action wouldn’t help. :)

EvilBlackSheep

Nice progress! How is The Garden Between? (and also why did you abandon vampyr? :wtf:)

skanda

Read my reply to adil, it was so boring I wanted to die. :I

The Gardens Between is a much more enjoyable game. It has some interesting puzzle mechanics, but not much of a story. Luckily only one of those is really important in a puzzle game!

Kaleith

Smasher? I barel-cough
I was gonna ask how Vampyr was but you already answered, nice. I was wondering why Skat was mocking me for even downloading it back when I was subbed to the monthly pass (I didn’t even try it in the end).
Congratulations on beating Jackbox Pack 5!

You might also want to read this fresh review to see if you’d like a non-skat vampyr. :blobcatnom:
