MouseWithBeer

Third week of July

I have been playing unhealthy amounts of CS:GO. Someone pls halp. Why can I not stop playing that game?! Well I know, its because it is a lot of fun with friends but halp…

In the last time I have been also rewatching a lot of old Co-Optional Podcast episodes. Can we have TB back please? :( It has been over a year and my brain still haven’t quite got the fact that there won’t be another WTF is… or that I will sooner or later run out of Co-optional episodes with him in it. Anyways to mostly (there is some shit here again) happier topics:

Completed SG win

Volstead
Playtime: 1.8 hours
Achievements: 0 of 0
Review: A confusing and boring board game I didn't really get. Works fine with Proton.

Other completed games

$1 Ride
Playtime: 1.4 hours
Achievements: 0 of 0
Review: The idea behind it is not awful - basically manage your resources/choices and pilot your ship as long as possible, but the execution is awful. More time than not if you make one wrong choice it will be game over and it is very easy to make the wrong choice. Works fine with Proton.
Zombie Solitaire
Playtime: 3.5 hours
Achievements: 0 of 0
Review: It is an OK solitaire game but you can find much better ones out there (like the sequels to this one - yes, I played those first, blame the weird sales). Works perfectly with Proton but apparently some people have issues on Windows which amuses me greatly :)
Weapons Genius
Playtime: 1.5 hours
Achievements: 9 of 9 (100%)
Review: An incredibly broken and shitty wanna be weapon building simulator. I am impressed at myself that I actually managed to 100% it with all the issues it has. Works mostly fine with Proton except an incredibly annoying mouse issue that can be fixed.
Animated Puzzles
Playtime: 11.1 hours
Achievements: 14 of 14 (100%)
Review: A nice jigsaw puzzle game that as the name implies has animated puzzles. The puzzle pieces and rules are customisable and also gas workshop support which is always great when there aren't that many puzzles to do by default. Works fine on Linux.
Aquilla

I’m missing TB too. I haven’t found any you tube rewiever as good as him. And I was searching.

MouseWithBeer

I don’t think he can be replaced. While he had his many flaws there was just something so special about him.

UlverHausu

btw, there is something weird with in $1 Ride where boost runs out faster on an higher frame rate. So, it gets progressively easier the lower the frame rate is

MouseWithBeer

Tying framerate to gameplay is just asking for trouble. Thankfully it is locked to 60 max (at least for me it was) because otherwise I can’t imagine what would happen :D

UlverHausu

144fps for me, because of my monitor´s refresh rate, i had to switch it to 60hz just to play it, otherwise its impossible.

MouseWithBeer

Hmmm my monitor is 144Hz as well, but I don’t recall it running at 144FPS. I wouldn’t be suprised if I am misremembering because of how hard it was. I would have liked it a lot more if slower.

Jaded

Don’t worry, I have spent many hours in Counter-Strike: Source… It’s fun :)

MouseWithBeer

I never really got into Source, I guess probably didn’t have anyone to play with and you can’t just simply queue up for a game like you can in GO. I should give it another go at some point just to break the monotony a little bit.

Jaded

I played it again recently - still a lot of people playing.
I actually much prefer searching servers than a quick play system! I found there was always core groups of people on different servers, plus the variety of game modes, such as normal, gungame, surf, zombies, jailbreak etc.
