Update #5: March 4th – 10th 2019
Non-Steam purchases:
I’ve wanted to play the original Diablo for the longest time and seeing it get a digital release on GOG this week, I just had to grab it. Also threw in Zafehouse: Diaries because it was dirt cheap.
SteamGifts wins:
Just the first episode unfortunately but I plan to get the rest of the episodes in a Steam Sale.
Beaten/completed:
Not the biggest fan of puzzle games but I really enjoyed this! I just put on some older episodes of MBMBaM, relaxed and puzzled away.
I had an old save from 2016 and only needed to beat like 2 more missions to finish it… so I did today. It was pretty decent.

Ah, Diablo…where it all started. The birth of the isometric fantasy ARPG, as far as I’m concerned. (I’m sure somebody will correct me.) Spent many hours playing that game. Multiplayer was insane with friendly fire…always better to be a sorc or archer than a melee fighter in crowded places. And of course dying makes you drop all your stuff so you had to try to get it back with your backup gear, or run in naked as fast as you can and hope for the best.
It’s got all the nostalgia in the world for me, but I’d probably hate the game if I tried to play it again.
As someone who is playing it for the first time it held up pretty well. The music especially!
It’s pretty neat to see all of the things that were brought over to Torchlight, which isn’t too surprising seeing as a few people from Runic also worked on the original Diablo.
I’m glad you’re enjoying it! Yeah, the music was great, especially for its time. I remember it was so great that the game supported an 800x600 resolution…what an advancement!
I will correct you :P
It’s more the birth of the isometric Hack & Slash as we know it. Isometric action RPGs existed before
