Aw, Professor Layton!
And Pokemon. I need more Pokemon games! nod nod

Lengray

I love the Layton games. I’ve beaten the first two (on DS) and am currently playing through PL & the Unwound Future (on DS too).
As to the Pokémon games, I’m getting each version so that my son and I can play them, trade pokémons and bond a little more.

Me too! Not sure if I have all though thinking Gotta check that :D
Yeah, I wanted to do the same with my sis in law. But I never got the last one (or two?)… uh… yeah :]

Nice Collection! That should keep you busy for + than a year!
I bought a second-hand Switch a couple months ago and it also rekindled my love for consoles/physical copies. Nintendo games are awesome to trade/resell because their price almost never go down. It saves you a lot of money.

Lengray

You’re right about the value of physical games and that’s why I’ll never buy anything from the eShop that exists in physical form.
It’s also a reminder of the real value of all those digital games we get since they are tied to our accounts forever.
The Switch looks nice but since I have a Wii and my kids and I still enjoy playing it, I have no reason (and no money left) to upgrade.

That’s a really great selection for your 3DS. I really need to see if I can fix the b button on mine and go back to that other backlog (or do like you and find a good second hand one).

Lengray

Thanks. From a video I’ve seen, the 3DS is very modular inside so if you can find the parts, it might not be hard to get that button fixed. As to second-hand ones, it’s a possibility but with handhelds, it’s a tricky thing since you don’t know how much the person has cared for it. And since the New 3DS XL has been discontinued, mint ones are hard and expensive to get (yet I found a seller willing to part with his, Pokémon Ultra Moon and a nice Zelda pouch for 110 euros).
And while I’m at it, I got this grip from Japan in the mail today. It’s excellent and makes the console fit better in my hands.

EvilBlackSheep

Wow, that was a really good deal! I’ve been looking for one of the new 3DS xl snes edition for a long while (since I realized my b button was not responding on my old 3DS xl) but without any luck. I’ve been looking on a french second hand website but it seems it’s full of people asking way too much for what they have (like 200-300€ for a console with visible scratches), or too far away for me to be able to check that the console is actually working before buying it :/

I’ve even been considering getting a 2DS xl (but i need to check the specs differences) because i’m not really ever using the 3D anyway.

That grip seems super nice! I’ll look into getting one too if I manage to either fix my console or find another one for a reasonable price.

Lengray

I get you. The person I bought the second one from said to me he kept getting nagged by people asking if he had the cardboard box. Probably to sell on the bundle for a profit…
The New 2DS XL has the same screens and power specs as the New 3DS XL. Obviously, it has no 3D but that’s not all. My son has the New 2DS XL and the speakers are underneath the console, making the sound muffled. So if you play with headphones on, the two consoles are basically the same (though the 2DS is a little smaller but feels a little cheaper). Have you tried contacting the Nintendo tech support to see how much it would cost to fix that faulty button?
