What did you think about Master of Orion? Have you played any of the previous games? I just don’t like how they’re selling separately races that used to be in the games previously.

I have played probably 100s of hours in MOO II. Just a few years ago I launched it in DosBox just for some nostalgia. I did not miss Elerian, Gnolam, or Trilarian, though it would have been nice to experience them a bit too. The mod support is excellent and fairly easy if you know your way around a text file (lots of default examples provided).

My review

I have only enjoyed a few turn-based games, and this is one of them. It was great to lose myself in it for a few hours, or just play a few turns while doing something else. Having only played MOO II previously (and not the others), I can only say that if you enjoyed that, I would expect you would enjoy this one too.

I had expected it to show up in a Humble Monthly for quite a while and it has not (yet). It was on sale for 75% off and it was more than worth it to me for that price.

I had no idea you actually wrote a review proper. Nice. Thanks for the recommendation.

That’s honestly why I held off from buying it up to this point as well. Still hoping it’ll show up, especially if they have more DLC planned to hook you with the core game.
