Trek to Yomi is done and dusted. I would’ve liked to see a more responsive combat system, and it’s weird how the story tries to normalize incest by reporting it as just a normal and expected aspect of conversation rather than a shocking reveal.

That said, still an excellent game and truly a visual masterpiece.

Although it’s 2.5D, it really plays like a mix of Mortal Kombat, One Finger Death Punch, with a splash of FromSoft dodge/parry/stamina system. Easily worth the price of entry. Is it a must play? No. Is it a must watch? Yes. If you treat it like an interactive movie rather than a game, you’ll probably enjoy it more.

You basically spend the game unlocking combos to use in battle, upgrading your health and stamina, with some story collectibles as well.

Anyway, for me, it was fun. There are four endings (one of which happens around the halfway point in the game), and you don’t really have a save option other than the old flashdrive save. When you complete the game, it erases all progress. So, depending on how much you liked the game, this may or may not end up being a YT title to enjoy the endings you didn’t select.

I chose the ‘Duty’ ending for my playthrough.

Played on the PS5
