February 2020 Progress Report

My life thankfully remains fairly normal - I continue to work from home. Who knows when I’ll be able to do any future travel for work or fun though.

Stats

The number of games I’ve been playing has outpaced the games I bought & didn’t play, so that’s good.

9% / 73 unfinished (+0%, +2 games)
12% / 99 beaten (+0%, +4 games)
1% / 11 completed
4% / 29 won’t play

On-Going Games

    Divinity: Original Sin 2

    Divinity: Original Sin 2

    18 hours playtime

Got two more lengthy sessions in, making good headway on Chapter 2, if not already in Chapter 3. Battles are getting really tough fighting through the underbelly of Fort Joy.

Beaten

    Burly Men at Sea

    Burly Men at Sea

    82 minutes playtime

This is for people who love short quirky adventure stories and point & click games if you buy it at historic low price. I got it in a bundle and thought it was barely worth that. I only found 6 different story paths and couldn’t find other paths.

Dungeon of the Endless™ - Crystal Edition

Dungeon of the Endless™ - Crystal Edition

    26 hours playtime

Easily recommended this for anyone who likes Tower Defence & strategy while not hating Roguelikes. It is the most unique TD game I’ve played since Sanctum 2, which helps me stay engaged with the game despite lack of persisted unlocks that add to player’s ability, resulting in relying on the player to git gud. My only major complaints are: The two difficulties available of “Easy” and “Too Easy” are really “Good Luck Escaping Hell” or “Too Easy”.

    Letter Quest: Grimm's Journey Remastered

    Letter Quest: Grimm's Journey Remastered

    15 hours playtime

I recommend this to anyone of any age who doesn’t hate word games, as they couldn’t have done much better with the word-spelling as an on-rails monster fighting RPG. This is for the most part NOT a typing game as this game largely doesn’t rely on typing speed and it is NOT a modern dungeon crawler as monsters and their abilities are fixed per dungeon.

Stuck or Paused

    Bomber Crew

    Bomber Crew

    13 hours playtime

I love the concept for a plane bomber sim/management game with just the right amount of management depth, but the types of missions and plane fighting doesn’t have much variety. Not saying they can do much better, but I think the nature of bomber planes are better suited for management than simulation genre unless you totally love bombers or something.

    Override

    Override

    33 minutes playtime

Mecha city stomping action sounds great and there’s versatility in moves available, but controls (whether controller or KB+M) don’t feel very good to me and feels robotic even from AI. Multiplayer seems intimidating since most anyone could probably kick my mecha’s butt.

    DESYNC

    DESYNC

    4 hours playtime

A really challenging FPS with fixed spawns for each stage in a level. Got stuck though between the main progression and the advanced versions of levels I already played. So this one is on my list of Stuck games.

What I Didn’t Get To

Given the amount of action games I was playing, I basically played Letter Quest this month instead of…
