Hero of the Kingdom (April 18th)
One of the games Last.M picked for the April Challenge Me Theme!
It was an okay point & click game, it's very short and simple. My biggest complaint (and I don't whether I was just playing it "wrong" somehow?) is that I was constantly running out of money. After going broke a couple times and constantly selling all my items little bits at a time *ahem* I am a hoarder in games... I searched to see if there was a way to earn money and ended up farming up a bunch. Even after farming 5,000 gold though I ran out again, everything was so dang expensive. haha Still glad I played it, have had my eye on it a few times the past year and probably would've kept putting it off. Thanks again to Last.M, I'm currently in the middle of Max: The Curse of Brotherhood and absolutely adoring it.

Poker Night 2 (April 19th)
It's been a loooong time since I've played poker (10-12 years?) but I've been meaning to get back into it. I recently watched some youtubers play a poker tournament and refreshed my memory on how to play it. I'll be playing this one on/off, but I'm really enjoying it. I won my first tournament played, but got worse from there. haha I think my record is 2 wins 4 (very quick) losses atm. The characters are absolutely fantastic. Glados is snarky as ever, making me question my moves. It's just been a lot of fun, would highly recommend even if you're a poker noobie like myself.

Ittle Dew (April 22nd)
I was surprisingly gifted this little gem of a game and I'm so grateful! A really fun puzzle adventure game that never takes itself seriously. The humour and the character interactions were fantastic. Some of the puzzles were very easy, others a bit tougher...but never too difficult that it became frustrating. I loved how there were different routes as well, so you if you wanted an extra challenge in figuring out a secrets/shortcuts you could. It didn't take long to complete, I played at a fairly slow pace and my initial playthrough was around 3 1/2 hours. I'm excited to come back and complete the secrets though, I believe I have 2 locations left to explore. Definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed Hero of the Kingdom; I played it (coincidentally) shortly after joining Steamgifts back in February 2015. I seem to recall it had several “infinite gold” tricks where if you convert one thing to another to another, etc., you are guaranteed to make a profit.
Max: The Curse of Brotherhood is fantastic also– my kids loved watching me playing it.
I need to play Poker Night at the Inventory because it’s an ancient SG win, but I don’t think I’ve actually ever played Hold ‘Em, even though I’ve watched it on TV.

Yeah, I guess it was just different than I was expecting! I’m used to most games giving more gold when you complete quests, so the farming gold isn’t as necessary for the base game. I spent about 45 minutes using the wheat “trick” to make money which worked well, just repetitive.

I can imagine your kids would enjoy it, it’s like a pixar film! While playing I just kept thinking about how much I would’ve enjoyed playing/watching this as a kid it’s so fantastic. My dad and I used to play games together all the time, especially platformers and he helped me past the tough bits. Brought back some nostalgia. :)

Great start! I ran into the same problem playing the game, but it’s so casual that I enjoyed playing a bit of it everyday. Glad to hear that you liked Max, it’s one of my favorites games. The art and the characters are so lovable that I 100%’d it even though I don’t usually do that.
Congrats again and have fun playing it!

Thanks! Yeah unfortunately didn’t get to play as much this month as I would’ve hoped, but still happy to have played 2 games this month I wouldn’t have otherwise. Max especially, it’s easily becoming one of my favourites as well. It’s basically everything I enjoy in a video game in one. I’d been so excited to play it at the time of buying, but then things came up and I just completely forgot I even owned it. So thanks again. :D

I’ve noticed that Poker Night 1 is a lot easier then two, although the characters aren’t as good. I feel like the second game has to much dialogue too and you can’t skip it like in the first game. Both are a lot of fun for a noobie like you and me though :)
