Hello fellow backloggers,
I would like to know your opinion on something… Recently I was thinking of including webm’s in my reviews to better show what the game is about. These would be short, raw gameplay clips, no music or effects added. I probably won’t include them for every game and a number of clips will vary, but I try to don’t go over three clips per review.
I would upload them to something like streamable or something similar and embed them in between the lines (though I haven’t tried it yet, maybe I will be too dumb to do it lol).
What do you think? Great idea? Or should BLAEO remain text only?

Voted yes. I love reading people’s thoughts on games and like when they implement a nice design. There’s a kind of slide with buttons for photos that I really like but since I don’t take screenshots in every game I don’t implement it. Maybe you could use something like that or a spoiler tag, so that it’s only shown for the people who are interesting in reading/knowing more and doesn’t clog up the post.
I know what you mean with the slider with screenshots, I’ll look into the code and see if it can be done with webm. But I haven’t decided how I’m going to attach clips into my reviews yet, so don’t expect to see that exactly.
I don’t know if spoiler is gonna do anything, won’t it still load in background, but just gonna be hidden? I definitely don’t want my clips to auto-play or anything like that, it might be possible to force it to just load the player without the video itself unless you click play, which should help a little with loading times, but I’m just speculating here, I don’t know html that well.
I’m 99% that auto-play is avoidable but the I don’t know about the background loading so I guess I’ll have to wait to see what you might or not do :)
