Lucah: Born of a Dream is done and dusted. Although this game does deserve multiple playthroughs, and so I’ll give it at least one more go around before considering it to be fully completed. I don’t really relate to religion and associated guilt, which is in large part what this game is about, but it was still interesting and a fun game overall. I did find it to be a bit difficult to get into, but once I sorted out the combat and how to best organize and slot abilities, plus just generally got a better understanding of the game, it really started to flow.

My run closed out with what I assume is the worst ending lol, considering I was at 100% corruption, and your corruption level seems to directly impact the ending. For mine, only one of the four available choices for all the important end game dialogue was unlocked. That said, I’m pretty confident I can close out another run with minimal corruption. Speaking of which, it took about 4 hours to complete my first run, but I’m thinking that if you don’t have experience with Soulsborne style exploration and combat, it might take you an hour or two longer.

Visually the game is stunning. Likewise, the music (EDM) and general audio tracks were also stunning. Once you adopt the proper approach, combat also becomes pretty spot on, and especially once you get your timing down for dodges and parries. You have a familiar who also can be used in combat, and I did find myself at times paying more attention to it, and less attention to my positioning lol, which lead to some unfortunate early game deaths. However, once I resolved everything, I did not die again. Having healing and time rewind abilities does help with that.

I rarely play a game more than once, so the fact that I’m gonna play this again should be telling. I’d recommend this, and especially if you want a pretty unique video game experience. It is worth noting that you can adjust difficulty at will, and cheat mods are also available. I think they would be particularly useful in story runs and/or if you just find the difficulty to be a bit much.
