Whoa, that’s a lot of games. Nice job.

Lords of the Fallen

Yeah, I’ve heard some overblown and totally-not-biased opinions from people online about LotF so it’s interesting to hear the other side here and there. From what I understand it’s basically people expecting the exact same thing they get from Souls games and then being disappointed when they don’t get it.

Ryse: Son of Rome

I saw some videos of it around launch on XBox One and it suddenly clicked why Crytek had to fight to get it published. I think I’d get bored of that color coded countering system in the first hour and there doesn’t seem to be much else to do beyond that. At least it looks real pretty, though.

Star Wars: Knight of the Old Rebuplic

Surprisingly enough I never had technical problems with KotOR, except that whole “quicksave while moving under Force Speed and you’ll cover a lot of ground” which was a feature in my opinion. I do wish it got the extended treatment like the sequel did with major mod fixing issues and adding new stuff, updated Steam version, etc. On a related resolution problem - when in doubt always check PC Gaming Wiki for tips and tricks.

Have time and enjoy gaming, thanks! :) Yes LotF isn’t as bad as i have heard of, giving at a time and playing for a while and it starts to taste much better. From graphical settings i did disable v-sync, chromatic aberration and volumetric lighting since they were either annoying or made game run worse. Yeah wrong mind set to go in it since it’s not a Souls game, but it’s still good same style of a game.

I won’t recommend Ryse, it’s entertaining enough, but i can see it get boring fast. Enjoyed it still, but boss battles pissed me really off especially towards the end. Now as speaking a person who plays Souls game and is given freedom to choose which kind of playstyle to deal with the boss enemies. Here you yank same combo 100 times which get old at 5th.

KotOR I runned really well and i didn’t have pretty much no problems with it. Well at last fight i did get game bugged really badly (probably because of alt-tabbing) so not games fault. Darth Malak had white box/square on his head and some other things did as well bug so :D I did read about getting widescreen resolution fixes and there was told that this game is fancy because it doesn’t seem to have solid fix for that issue, decided to drop it then and play with 1280x1024 which did look pretty swell with flawless on. Flawless did cause grass models become transparent so had to disable them. I think there was pair of setting in advanced graphical settings which shouldn’t be left on since game will crash.

Playing through Lords of the fallen myself, seems like im late ingame with boss room after boss room.
Ill put some thoughts into it if i manage to finish, so far so easy
But if someone having a though time comes around here:

  • i know they offer heavy builds right at the start, but you wont be able to use them with those stats.
  • check moveset before using a weapon, some weapons are useless due to the animation which does not match with the swing speed
  • Drop the shield
  • backstab enemies and jump attack bigger shields (damage goes right through it)

I noticed that Scythe/Greataxe (Clawfinger) was really fast after initial hard hit (2-handed) you could spin really fast around and deal vast amount of damage. Didn’t test weapons almost at all myself. Did use mainly first boss weapon (fiery Greatsword), 3rd ? boss weapons (Clawfinger) and rest of the game Codex greatsword. Indeed it’s best to test out which would fit ones playstyle by equipping and trying light/hard attack with 1h/2h based on how will one use their character. I put shield on my back and added rune to it and it seemed to work even when not using it so some shield on back is still good to use for additional poise, defense and runical effects.

I decided to make posts every 2 weeks too ^__^ I tried make them every week but this didn’t work well.
Also SW KoTOR 2 in some ways even better than 1st one. But publisher forced Obsidian to throw unfinished game, so they cut many thing like characters, story-lines and even planets. But whatever you really should play 2nd KOTOR if you liked 1st.

Heiluri

Feels better to do every two weeks, but might do per one week every now and then still. Obsidian seems to have quite often grand plans for games they make, but usually money/budget stumps their work. First didn’t seem to need additional content from my view, but i think i will get that restoration mod for 2nd KotOR. Yes i will play it like every game i own, but not so fast after first :)
