Monthly Update #10: February

I need a bundle intervention

So since I quit playing Guild Wars 2 in 2018 and discovered bundles December 2018, my steam backlog has exploded. After recording my backlog additions this month I think I seriously need an intervention!
Since I have been buying bundles though, I've really played a lot of different games I never would have played or thought to try, especially as I hate buying games for more than $10 unless It's something I really want to play (I never would have bought Artifex Mundi games previously..!). Steamgift wins have also introduced me to games I never thought I'd like, Children of Zodiarcs for example I really enjoyed!

This month has been a focus on playing games co-op. Finished Trine with a couple of friends, and have been playing Stardew with one of them. They both bought the rest of the Trine series as it's currently on sale on Steam, so we will probably be playing that this month!

Played co-op with 2 friends - it was great fun! It was pretty funny sabotaging each other throughout the game. ;)

We ended up cheesing the No Damage achievement in the end. We attempted to have one person sit out to get it, but once we realised we all needed to not get hit… We ended up floating ourselves to the finish on one of the levels and avoided all enemies lol. Screenshot on the first tab is from our successful attempt :P (There were a fair few attempts that were unsuccessful- I wouldn't have sabotaged any of those attempts, no…..)

If you haven't played Trine and have 2 friends to co-op with, I definitely recommend it!

This game is awesome. You feel pretty badass when you manage to successfully pass a level! I did have an issue in one level with using the Mind Blow skill not working well and having to repeat that level…over..and over…

It's pretty short, but it has a fair few challenges and achievements I can work towards to extend the game. It also has a 7 minute party mode.. I haven't tested this yet but looks like it would be good for demonstrating VR to others.

I'll definitely be coming back to this and attempting to 100% it. I'm not sure I'll be successful at some, like not dying. I died a lot… But, it's fun.

SUPER.
HOT.

Clicker game - I refuse to let it beat me! I will get that 100%! Then never play another clicker again. It's cute though, and kind of weird sacrificing your animals so that they can become spirits that essentially harvest things (click) for you…… D:

So I've now set up my Oculus Quest version of the game with mods - this means my hours in the game won't be reflected in Steam haha. I originally bought 2 versions of the game, so I could compare if there was lag using Steam over Wifi to my Quest. I discovered it's minimal lag, but it is easier to set up games straight from the Quest store if owned. (Steam games are on sale more though, so cheaper..). Mods on my device also means it will be easier to showcase to people as well when using it.

I love this game. If I could only have one VR game, this would be it.

Another VR game, by the people who made FORM. I found this one less obvious in what you are meant to do to progress. At the 40 minute mark, I couldn't figure out what to do so decided to stop for the night. (After an hour of Beat Saber before hand haha)

Played a tiny bit while re-watching some Jurassic Park this month! Good mindless game honestly.

Friend saw that I won Shadow Warrior 2 and said that I had to play the first game first... He had a spare key and gifted it to me lol. It came with Shadow Warrior and Viscera Cleanup Detail: Shadow Warrior. He also was trading for some achievement games for his profile and got a spare key for Reflex for me.. which then led me down the rabbit hole of trading some horrible cheap games for some more horrible cheap games with interesting achievements. >.>

Bundles are the plague of backlog fight T_T (I’m almost glad I missed out on the latest Artifex one, usually I go for them and it doesn’t help). I was where you are before, and I put myself a rule of not buying a bundle unless I’m gonna play the majority of it. It has somewhat worked to slow down buying them.

At least you added a bunch of good games to your backlog, that’s something to look forward to. I really loved playing Yoku’s Island Express last month, it was a refreshing surprise. I hope you enjoy it too.

Jaded

Haha they really are! I think my steam library has grown by about x6 the number. Probably more honestly….. :S
But but… deals!!! Yeah I should do the same thing honestly… maybe…we’ll see….

Ooooh nice, yeah I’m pretty happy with my additions this month. I put forward Yoku as a possible game to play in PAGYWOS, so hmm.. I might see if I can play it. I just hope Stardew doesn’t suck up all my time again this month.

EvilBlackSheep

Stardew is love anyway so you’re excused if you play too much of it ;)

Jaded

Haha yay excuses! It has been a lot of fun, especially playing co-op. We have another friend who occasionally drops in as well which causes shenanigans.

Arbiter Libera

Love the layout as usual. Vibrant as all hell.

I need a bundle intervention

Tell me about it. I’ve most come to count on Humble Choice these days, though. Unless you REALLY want a single specific game and want it right now there’s bundles for everything and you can get it for cheap.

Jaded

Haha thanks! I like a fair few people’s layouts, but the way mine is at the moment is a little different which is always good :P

I should do that too. Honestly It’s not like I have a lot of time to play the games I get.. They have had a few interesting bundles recently however… they have sucked me in!
