Aquilla

June 2019

That was a month with a few really solid games and a steam sale which means, that my backlog got longer again. Fitst I want to write a quick review for two games I haven’t talk about yet, then I’ll show my conclusion of the month.

I was challenged for this game by another user and I’ve beaten the challenge with pleasure. A solid, short (I played it twice for audio commentary) and nice looking mix between walking sim and platformer (but mostly walking sim). The whole game is a passion project done by one guy, which I always appreciate. You are playing a fox which is in the dream of a guy, who is talking about his childhood… It’s a little complicated, but easy to understand in the game. You are walking through the forest, finding things which reminded the man about his past, occassionally do a small jumping puzzle. You uncover the story by listening to this one guy talking with his wife, fortunately two actors (the man who made the game and his wife) are decent enough and I listened to them with pleasure. But the absolute best thing in the game is the music. This music is AWESOME. Just a little piano, some violin, maybe some other instrument, but its so atmospheric, that I sometimes stopped only to listen to it. Seriously, play this game for the music, it’s so good.

It’s ok little arcade game, where you are basically shooting up to kill the bugs flying all over the screen and trying not to be touched by them. There are a lot of kinds of the bugs, everyone with it’s own type of movements and abilities, some money collecting to upgrade your stats. It’s not bad, relaxing entertainment. BUT. One beautiful day I’ve lost my save. I turned on my game and I was at level one again. Sorry, but I don’t want to play through it again, so I’m passing.

Beaten and completed games

I’ve finished 7 games, including 2 I’ve dropped. I wrote reviews for them in earlier posts, so I won’t repeat myself. Instead of tha I’ll just write my score for them.
