A year and a half or so ago, I received an early access version of Deep Sky Derelicts, and after trying it out for four-ish hours, I concluded that the game was a trainwreck. I did resolve to try it again after it saw full release however, and so with that in mind, I fired the game back up a few days ago. Two or so years made a huge difference with this game. Where before it was poorly balanced and almost impossible to manage your resources to the point where you would have a reasonable chance at even thinking about finishing the game without some heavy RNG intervention, now it is almost perfectly balanced. Yes, sometimes enemies seem to spam the same card over and over to annoying effect, but mostly, this game has become a seamless roguelike card game WITH the inclusion of a manual save system which makes the game far more forgiving if you end up on the wrong side of the RNG gods temper. I thought it was a ton of fun with a lot of card and enemy diversity and cool ship husks to explore, interesting characters, and a quirky sense of humor. For me, the campaign lasted right at about 24 hours and never overstayed its welcome, although I think it was right at the cusp of what I would have wanted to put into the game. I can wholeheartedly recommend this game at this point.

I’m currently in the middle of American Fugitive. The OG GTA vibes are real. It’s a decent game, although maybe with a touch on the difficult side until you really get into the game a bit. I’m enjoying it.

I’ve got Church in the Darkness queued next, but there are also a handful of games I’m at least at the halfway point with, so maybe I’ll try to winnow some of those down first. Dunno.

That’s nice to hear. I think I should give Deep Sky Derelicts another chance, too. Thanks for the information. Have a nice weekend! :)
