I haven’t really been updating since I haven’t had a lot of time to play, but hopefully I’ll have a bit more time the next couple of weeks.

After a very long battle, I’ve finally managed to complete Adventure Capitalist, and although at first I thought I might be sticking around a bit more for events, I realized that it’s no longer fun after playing it so much, so I am officially done with it.

I don’t have much to say about OIK 2 and Zup! Zero since they’re pretty much new levels to their predecessors, but as always, I sincerely enjoyed them.

MAKE IT as an Artist is a free “game” that caught my attention; I’d been meaning to play this for a while but forgot about it. As its steam page says, “It’s very experimental and definitely not for everyone.”. Found it interesting, but even for something experimental and a game-but-not-really, I think it was slightly lacking when it came to the ending.

I have (shockingly!) managed to finish 2 of the games that I proposed to myself in the last post, the 2 HOGs, Mind Snares: Alice’s Journey and Demon Hunter: Chronicles from Beyond. I don’t feel like either of these had seriously intriguing stories, but I never expect that from HOGs anyway. I enjoyed Mind Snares a bit more for two silly reasons: one, some of the achievements in Demon Hunter absolutely annoyed me and I ended up giving up on them, and two, having played Mind Snares first, I kept accidentally clicking the hint button when trying to open up the map -_- Nevertheless, I still liked both for their casual-intended purpose.

Also, I am currently at a 42% game completion rate, a 2% increase since my last post, and +4 perfect games.

I’m actually almost done with Demon Hunter 2: New Chapter, but I wanted to post before that because I haven’t posted in a while (and also because I really like the 3-under-3 game layout, but I don’t know if it’ll take me a day or a month to play enough to get to 9 games; maybe I should just start calling these “6 Game Updates”?).

I’m really looking forward to playing more HOGs, including 9 Clues: The Secret of Serpent Creek, its sequel and whatever else I have laying around. Although I might not sound very excited about them when shortly “reviewing” them here, I actually have a bunch of them and I can’t wait to play them all!

Somehow, I managed to forget about the gem that is 10,000,000, but I stumbled upon it again a few days ago. It’s going to take me a while to finish it because it’s very repetitive, but I’m definitely going to finish this and maybe resume You Must Build A Boat as well afterwards. Isn’t that what I always say though?

I swear I’m going to at least beat Hitman GO sometime soon just so I’ll know I’m done with it ;-; Until then, it’s going to be stuck in “Up next” purgatory.

Detention is an SG win, and I’ve actually also won it from a friend, so I’m feeling double guilty about not playing this yet. Triple if you count the fact that I had been looking forward to playing this.

Honestly, I’m quite far from being a fan of platformers, but from screenshots, I think Hue looks quite interesting. I’m thinking of trying it with a controller rather than the keyboard, but I’m not 100% sure which one would be better for it. I honestly haven’t heard much about it so I can’t say a lot yet, but, hopefully, I’ll get to it soon.

Agreed for those 2 HoGs’ stories:). You should give the Enigmatis trilogy a try. The story was surprisingly… well… existing, for a HoG xD. It’s also spread out throughout 3 games.
Anyway, congrats! 42% is awesome.

Alizarine

Will do, thanks for the recommandation! I have so many unplayed HOGs I often forget about them :(
Thank you! Might not be much, but it’s a small achievement for me ^^

Congrats! Hue is a hidden gem, I just finished it last week and it’s amazing. The soundtrack is great, the puzzles are not unintuitive like many games nowadays and the story is also quite good. I played with a keyboard and tbh I think it’s better because you can change the colors faster using a mouse which helps a lot during some puzzles, IIRC. Maybe you more experienced with controller, idk. Hope you have as much fun as I did playing it!

Alizarine

Thanks for letting me know! Hearing games being praised makes me want to play them even more ^^ I’ll be trying with a keyboard then, I’m not very good at games in general, so it sounds like it’ll make things slightly easier for me.

Look at them HOGs. :D

I didn’t even realize AdVenture Capitalist was free until very recently. Any specifics that made you stop playing? Looking forward to what you think about Detention. I’ve been checking it out as well, but never bought it.

Alizarine

I started casually playing AdVenture Capitalist a few years ago (but I started on the mobile version), and the main sections always seemed interesting to me, but I completed the game a few weeks ago. I had always found events quite unfair because without using gold it’s really hard to progress enough to get all the badges unless you’re really dedicated the whole week the event is on, but since completing Earth gives you 5k gold, I thought I’d stick around for a few more events. Worked fine for a couple of events, but during the current one, after 2 days and 300-500 gold spent, I was still progressing way too slowly and I realized that after years of playing it I no longer found it fun, and that it’s not worth dragging it on for silly badges that will be gone the moment I uninstall it.

I’ve seen people saying in the community hub that Detention is somewhat similar to The Cat Lady (and is apparently inspired by it) which I played back before it got on steam and absolutely loved. Took down a few more HOGs in the meantime, so I’ll be getting to it quite soon!

Arbiter Libera

Interesting. Should be interesting for a while or in bursts, I think. At least it’s not a clicker.

Hue is great. I would definitely recommend a controller, though tbh I never tried it with kb+m. Take a look at my short review and let me know if you have any other questions.

Alizarine

I’ve actually started playing it since I posted this, got somewhere around halfway through I believe? Ended up playing with a controller and I’m glad I did because I find it super easy to change colors. I’m very pleased about it so far :)
