Update 12: June 2019 or I hate myself for caving and buying too many new games from steam summer sale
I played 11 different games this month and completed/beaten 10 of them. So not too shabby on that front. And then the steam sale happened and I bought a lot of games, were gifted some by friends, activated some old ones and won some on SG.
So out of a good position I managed to actually extend my backlog 🙈. So here goes my complete list of shame :
SG wins:
- Snake Pass
- Homeworld Remastered Collection
- Mafia
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat
Old activated keys:
- Jurassic Park
- Sam and Max. Devil’s Playhouse
- Tales of the Borderlands
Gifts from friends:
- Niche - a genetics survival game
- Deep Space Anomaly
- Sparkle 2
Steam purchases before and during sale:
- Heretic Kingdoms: Shadows
- Handsome Jack Collection
- 911 Operator - Special Resources (baught all other DLC’s during sale)
- Red Faction Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered
- Kabounce Limited Free Promotional Package - Jun 2019
- Faerie Solitaire Harvest
- Tales of Symphonia
- Chef Solitaire: USA
- Railroad Tycoon Collection
- The Wolf Among Us
- The Slater
So if I’m not mistaken I bought/won/was gifted 21 new games in June plus some DLC’s. That means +11 for my backlog ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Well on to the games I’ve played last month:
I did it. I finally completed this one. To get the last achievement was such a pain in the ***. I don't know why they need to make it extra difficult to complete games. It only took me several hours of repeatedly playing the same level again and again to finally get there.
Overall I loved the game, just that last achievement was :-/
Game was okay. But nothing more. Found the having to "light" the enemy up before shooting them annoying after a while. And the game got repetetive quick.
Liked the game. Nice story though gameplay was mostly button mashing. You can choose from a host of different weapons, but no combo attacks. It's a pretty basic hack'n'slash.
Liked the game, but gameplay was hard sometimes. The controls make the game harder than it needs to be. But in the end it is just a lot of learning how the bosses move to finally beat it. I think the only real tips I can give you is learn the boss patterns and learn to dodge their attacks. It might be tedious, but after a while you improve. And if it is not working at all maybe watch a YouTube video or two. It not always helped me when I was stuck but it gave me some ideas how to dodge. And sometimes that’s all you need. That and a lot of patience.
Somewhat cute, but hella grindy. Finally gave up after over 20h. I have better things to do with my time.
Liked the games general idea. Some levels were rather hard to finish, but it was overall really nice. Also had some problems with starting the game. Every time I tried to start it in my native resolution the game became unplayable since the whole game was moved to the side and you could not reach any button. Had to kill the game via taskmanager since nothing else worked. Had to choose lower resolution or needed to play in windowed mode for it to work properly.
Really liked the game. So far I've only played one other telltale game (The Walking Dead) and I like this one better. It feels really like a story from GoT that could have happened. But if you know GoT, you know there is not likely a happy end to it.
Liked the game. My first playthrough was non-violent, which was a pain in the a**, I mean after all you are playing an assassin ^_^
Not really sure about the plot to be honest. It was never really explained why the assassin is going after the king. You've got bits and pieces from the gurads conversations, if you kept them alive long enough, but never really the whole picture.
I started a kill-them-all playthrough, but have not completed the game yet (to get all the achievements).
Liked the game. Took me a while to get familiar with the controls, but then I really liked the range of different weapons to choose from.
Overall Backlog Progress
Overall SG Wins Progress
Major annoyance with Dishonored was Arkane went out of their way to make Blink very usable as a getaway card which in turn invalidated excellent level design as players just blinked over everything.
Yeah I totally agree. I used it very sparingly, but basically if there was something that you did not want to encounter just blink over it.
I apologize for the 3 ones that I might be at fault for :D
Well 3 more or less don’t make that much of a difference XD
And they are all games that I really like to play so no worries.
