I've finally played Everlasting Summer after putting it off for so long. It's one of those stories where you have to experience many if not all routes to get closer to the core of the mystery.
I can say I've enjoyed the story, even though I was a little bored during some of the routes. I also thought that some explanations during the ending felt almost random.
The background images are beautiful, but unfortunately the art style quality gets dragged down by the ugly character sprites. Overall this ended up being a good project to be free.
You won't miss anything important if you don't have the 18+ patch because it's useless: the shoehorned sex scenes consist in only two images with no description.
Description
One day, Semyon, while taking a walk through the streets, boards the bus number 410, where he suddenly loses his consciousness. When he comes back to his senses, he finds himself in a soviet pioneer summer camp. Semyon gets involved in a routine life of soviet youth and meets several attractive girls... But he still wants to understand how he got there and maybe find a way out, back to the real world.

Have you seen that studio’s new VN that’s going to be coming soon? I am so so so so proud of that team, the VN looks GREAT! I don’t know if it’s a new artist, but I’m really hoping that its the same character artist and they just massively improved.
Everlasting Summer is definitely the most questionable choice on my recommended list - even the ugly character sprites charmed me somehow.
I also want to second Vito - your post is formatted in a really elegant, professional way.
I have seen it and I like the art style a lot! From the vndb it looks like there are the same background artists but not the characters ones :P

I dropped that VN after a few routes, it felt like the story wasn’t really going anywhere and while I thought I would get used to them, those sprites got more and more unbearable by the minute for some reason.
I saw you plan on doing a VN masterpost and I look forward to it, I liked a few VNs that I’d never heard about if not for your review/recommendation on BLAEO
The Miku route was definitely different from the others if you didn’t reach that yet.

It feels like your post are getting prettier by the minute :) I definitely enjoy the layout and appreciate the descriptive tags (esp. now that I’m looking to plunge deeper into the territory of VNs).
