I never even knew this game existed, until I scrolled through certain steam genres and was like: oh it's also a puzzly game, I want this!
Sadly the Achievements seem to be broken. Luckily I don't have to replay it therefore to get them all :] xD
Sadly there don't seem to be more than this first Episode. Which is a shame bc it's a nice start and the story seems interesting, so do the mechanics of the game. Although I did have to use my anti motion sickness wristbands. But that was ok. It was pretty clear from the start so I was safe.
I very much liked the concept of only changing things, by running a simulation with ppl in cryosleep - or something. They might have called it differently. It was nice how you could influence the way they perceived their teammates and therefore in the end probably the outcome of the mission - which we will not see though, bc there probably won't be anything after this one.
Hidden LEWD Rating: Not rly?
Gay-ship: Austin/Art? Probably.
Recommendation? I'd say yes. But since there will not be anything after this, maybe not so much? Sadly.

Wow! My Time At Portia made it under my Top 10 longest played games on steam. Not really a surprise, but still. Wow, that was a lot of time!
In between I worried a bit it might become to repetitive and therefore boring, but no, that worked out, bc I still had some main quests to go and still some personal goal and still some achievements. So yeah, that worked out pretty good.
Normally I'm all for farming games. MTAP is no farming game though. It's a building game with a bit of farming on the side. Your main focus is on constructing things like machines or building pieces - bridge parts or such. You're out to help improve your town - Portia - to make it more popular among the free cities. While you might have one or two tourists at the start of the game, you really notice how more and more ppl come to visit which is a fun side fact I think.
Fighting in these kinda games normally totally annoys me - like why do we have to go fight blobs (sry, can't remember the name right now) in Stardew Valley and why are there always monsters in Harvest Moon games? - and often I'm getting too frustrated with the whole fighting system. I worried this might be the same here. Turns out I'm very bad with fire enemies. I really, really can't handle them properly. Even with being top equipped and having the best weapon that is. Which btw is SO FUCKING OVERPOWERED! Yk how they make you worried about the boss on lvl 100 in the deepest mines? Yeah, it's a joke if you have that one weapon dropped by that one enemy - aka endboss of the main game. Take it and slaughter them all! It's basically a piece of cake!
Which leads us to achievements. Apparently they have changed a bit over time. Looking at guides I sometimes had to get more or less than mentioned in the guide. Also - which I really think the game should point out! - Emily is probably the intended romance, bc her achievement is a true pain in the butt if you don't pay attention to it. I didn't, bc I was like: oh well gotta replay the game anyway for all the romance cheevos. Then I tried getting them with a backlog save and that worked out pretty nicely - although, yes, heartbreak on my part every time I divorced from Arlo sob Anyway. You can do Emilys super long achievement even if you were married in between. As long as you started with the whole thing and did everything at start, she will do her part even while you're married. So if you divorce end of summer in year two you can totally still get it. Which is good to know imho. Probably you're all bored out by now. Well, tough luck :P
Hidden LEWD rating: None basically. Apart from certain bouncy booby on the seesaw. The rest is very decent. Like going to bed. Fully. Clothed!
Gay-ship: Basically everybody works out gay. So my gay ship… have to be my male MC/Arlo.
Recommendation? Yes.

Cat Story ahead!
Yeah, well. I’ve been alone with cats (and doggo) for a couple of days. And you’d think Ameno would come round to get pet and all that. He was indeed way more tranquil than when my mum is here. Like basically not annoying af. But we didn’t really cuddle at all. So once my parents came back he instantly went to “love me” mode. But wait! Not only with my mother but also with me. As if he hadn’t seen me these two days. Cat! I was here! The whole time! Why didn’t you come around once? What’s wrong with you? O.o

Also I’ve been out singing. So my town is in the middle of the County I life in. And there was this County wide event – set up by a radio station – where ppl could win tickets and come sing. Like a big Karaoke. Like 3500 ppl big. All singing together. Massive choir. All nice and well and all that. I even manged the massive amount of ppl without a panic attack. Buuuuuuut! I won’t do this again. Like ever. Bc half of the songs were songs I’d totally switch radio stations to get away from. Or in other words: Half were indeed German songs. I should have seen this coming? You’re absolutely right. I should have. To make it even worse: We were made to practice said (stupid) songs. But once we got something nice, something I listened to as teeny and yes indeed, knew both the music and most of the lyrics… we. Were. Only. Singing. The refrain. Like tf? This is a joke, right? Well I still sung along, bc I’m awesome and I can do this! \o/
Gotta find a Karaoke place. Or a friend with singstar.

So much from me :)
Have a lovely week!

Congratulations!!! You finally finished MTaP!! (Although It’s not really finally, it hasn’t been that long since you started >.>)

ninglor03

Ah, it counts as finally since it had a lot of hours :D
Thank you :)

Jaded

True :P

kubikill

Kudos to you for surviving in such a large crowd and singing, if I was there I would bail out of there immediately, especially because I’m so HORRIBLE at singing.

Also My Time At Portia looks so cool! It’s in my backlog for quite a while but I’m not sure if I should tackle it now, considering how large it is and how I have several large unfinished games to deal with already.

ninglor03

I like singing. I normally just sing to myself though. Never dared join a choir or take lessons or anything, bc it was horror in school. But than again everything was kinda horror in school… -.-

Although I totally recommend playing it… maybe you should wait a bit?

samwise84

Did they make you “sing” one of the new rap “artists”, too? My coworker always makes me listen to Capital Bra 🤢

ninglor03

We had something with a bit of rap? But not really luckily. Still enough not nice songs included :D

Cece09

I cant believe its not a 5/5 for that long as game

ninglor03

You see Mass Effect was 5/5. Every game since have to come out victorious when I ask the question: “Are you on a Mass Effect lvl?” Most don’t :D

Vito

Hahaha, you described it perfectly. I have a pretty similar sentiment for 5/5 being at least almost equal to Mass Effect :D

ninglor03

Nin approves :D

adil

Congrats again for completing Portia! You sure showed who’s the boss in town!

ninglor03

Joe beat me time wise, but we’re not talking about that xD
