Thought I’d take a moment to update my retired list:

Devil May Cry 5: Actually, this is legitimately the best DMC I’ve played (obviously IMO). The thing is, I don’t love this type of gameplay anymore it seems, and by about the two hour mark, I found myself kind of dreading going back. Really is a case of, “It’s not you, it’s me” lol. That said, this one is definitely much cringier than past DMCs, and maybe that also helped to sour me on the experience a bit.

killer7: Such a cool idea, and actually a decent application of the idea, but also insanely cringy, and kind of boring as well. After 8 or 10 hours, I just couldn’t do it anymore.

Knights of Tartarus: Well, continuing with the running theme, this also is a quality game that I just didn’t find myself enjoying. Really, the main point of contention I have with this game is a lot of wandering around aimlessly trying to find the next thing you’re supposed to do. It is helping me to tighten up my gaming habits though lol.

Neo Cab: I actually will probably play a little longer so I have enough material to properly review this game (it’s a game I received specifically to review). That said, I won’t finish it almost certainly. It is sooooooo boring and so sterile. A far cry from the promise the game seemed to have pre release.

The Secrets of the Forest: I spent more time waiting for this game to actually load than the game’s actual average playtime. I got tired of waiting. It never did actually open up for me lol.

Dead in Vinland: I got to right around the halfway point based on the map. It’s a lot of fun IMO from the camp management and exploration and combat standpoint. All of those aspects checked off positive boxes for me. However, the nightly dialogue between characters was pretty unbearable, and so when I made a mistake that caused me to really need to go back like 10-12 days (in game) to repair (and I wasn’t able to progress further as things were), I realized I just did not want to go any further having to deal with the story, which is pretty integral to the game. Just could not deal with the constant whining from what were supposed to be Vikings (or at least well invested in being a Viking as the case was with some of the characters).

Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap: IDK. Felt kind of listless to me which is sad since I think very highly of the publisher and the series in general.

Rage 2: Actually, IDK if I’m really retiring it, or am simply going to wait until I upgrade my rig next month, but as things stand right now, it won’t run.

Wolfenstein 2: see Rage 2

Devil’s Hunt: Hello. 6th Generation wants its game back. Washed out, janky as hell, and generally an unfun and slower version of what DMC and Hellgate would be mashed together. At least as far as I played it.

Haimrik: Just kind of got tired of the….ummm….wordplay. :)

Honestly, for the most part, these games would be easy recommendations for people. Just not my cup of tea for various reasons.

Anyway, currently on the last city on my first full run of World War Z, which for me, is a significantly more fun version of that classic L4D 1/2 gameplay. definitely more fun than the Vermintides. Really enjoying it. I also have started Hypnospace Outlaw, will be giving The friends of Ringo Ishikawa one final look before deciding if I want to retire that one, PC Building Simulator, Iratus: Lord of the Dead (really enjoying this one so far), and My Time at Portia.

This makes me a bit sad. I’m really looking forward to that game..

I always caution that opinions, being subjective, are always YMMV. So, maybe what I didn’t enjoy, you might really love. But yeah, for me, it was so sterile and slow that I didn’t find myself enjoying it.

Yes, obviously :) But yours is the first opinion I’ve seen other than Steam-page reviews, so that’s why I’m a little sad about it :)
