Finished in July (1,2,3)

I’ve finished one game and dropped two. I’m playing for fun, if I’m starting to get bored, I’m dropping the game.

This is a straaaaange game. More like an experience. You are jumping from thing to thing (plant, animal, mineral…), exploring the world and searching for parts of philosophical lectures. I got the vibe I was hopeful to find in No Man’s Sky, and I really enjoyed this. The game is relaxng, and a bit “zen”. It’s hard to say, where there is proper ending so I established, that I need to find all of the lectures, which I happily did.

Well, I have a problem with this game. The battle system is really good, but all the rest was just boring to me. Standard plot of “you are the chosen one”, standard quests, and after spending some time with my companions here, I REALLY miss my companions from Dragon Age. All in all it’s a solid game, but I just got bored after 70+ hours.

An adventure game from FPP view. You are inside of a huge world/computer game, where you can upload your mind and live after your body died. The main gameplay loop: After an introduction you are finding a kind of HUB area, where you have portals to different worlds. You jump into portal to another area(which is usually a projection of mind of dead person), you are solving the riddle in this area, finding a dead body, going out, repeat. It’s not a bad loop and riddles are usually nice, but I have two major problems. 1. There is always one jumpscare in those areas. Always. And after a while you are solving those riddles and just thinking “Ok. Scare me. C’mon, just scare me now, I want to have this behind me and just focus on the riddle” It’s really not necessary and mood breaking for me. 2. You cannot save your progress inside an area. You are almost on the end, got stuck and just want to come back tomorrow? Well bad luck. You have to finish it now, or do everything from the beginning. And areas are taking about 30 minutes, so it is getting annoing really quick. I’m thinking about finishing this game via You Tube, because I really like the variety of areas, but it annoyed me just a bit too much.

I made the mistake thinking that the text above a game tile was its review, so you can imagine my confusion when I thought that D:OS 2 was about “You are jumping from thing to thing (plant, animal, mineral…), exploring the world and searching for parts of philosophical lectures.” …LOL!
Anyways, I only play D:OS co-op with a friend since they can navigate the main quest lines easy, especially the parts that dont involve battles. So I’d probably feel that way or the same way you do about the sequel.

Note to myself - I need to make some kind of frame for reviews.
I have a bunch o friends who beat this game half a year ago in co-op. I’m sure it’s better this way, but I like to play alone.

Woah, the concept of Soul Axiom is nuts. But that’s a bummer about the stuff you mentioned especially the save problem. The reviews are mixed, so the game definitely has a lot of issues to a lot of people!

I’m playing for fun, if I’m starting to get bored, I’m dropping the game.

Yeah, I try to remember that too, but most of time I get caught up on wanting to 100% everything, heh. But still that’s a good thing to remember and follow. Hope the other games you try will be more fun/better ~

You can try to catch it in bundle. I had a good time, and I think I was more or less in the middle of it. It wasn’t a total waste of money.
