Update: Plans for July

Well, since my last post is my first post, it’s not a surprise that I made the mistake of trying to plan ahead and decide which games I’m going to tackle this month. I’m trying to participate in both BLAEO and PAGYWOSG challenges this month, so that changes my list drastically. I decided to give it a short update to keep track of what I’m hoping to play VS what I should play if I want to complete the challenges.

Lion’s Heart

PAGYWOSG challenge for July 2019 is Lion’s Heart and by the time of me writing this post, there are 3 fitting games on my backlog for it:

  • ABZÛ

    87 minutes playtime

    4 of 12 achievements

  • Hustle Cat

    2 hours playtime

    1 of 12 achievements

  • Divide by Sheep

    10 minutes playtime

    2 of 19 achievements

I’ve already started both ABZU (a game about animals) and Hustle Cat (both a title with animal name in it & visual novel), but I’m not sure on which I should focus first and complete–I might play them both at the same time just to avoid making a choice at one point. I’m not sure about Divide by Sheep (a title with animal name in it)–it fits the theme pretty well, but I’m sceptical on whether I’ll enjoy it or not.

Ruby

And as it’s known, BLAEO theme for July is Ruby. I’ve found 2 games that fit this category which I want to play/will consider playing:

  • Hacknet

    0 minutes playtime

    0 of 11 achievements

  • INSIDE

    0 minutes playtime

    0 of 14 achievements

Turns out, I don’t have that many games with red in their display pictures.

My Original Plans

My original list had 4 games with 1-maybe game, 103.

  • Big Pharma

    22 minutes playtime

    0 of 25 achievements

  • Superflight

    0 minutes playtime

    0 of 24 achievements

  • Hollow Knight

    46 minutes playtime

    0 of 63 achievements

  • ASTRONEER

    0 minutes playtime

    0 of 54 achievements

To be honest, I’ll be content with myself if I manage to beat/complete just one game from each category. Each additional game will be a bonus, whether it’s from any of these or not.

After looking at the number of games I want to play this month, I kind of said to myself: “I shouldn’t have bought that many games in June.” But the funny thing is, I’m still thinking of buying more games before the Steam Summer Sale ends, since after that I won’t be getting anything new for a long while, unless I win it from Steam Gifts or Kinguin.

Oh totally get the whole wanting more. Even though I only buy stuff during the big sale events part of me always wants more. However I never play them. I play enough stuff to battle against what Ive added to my backlog but when it comes down to it I’m not playing the ones I have just brought. Especially when it came to lasy winter sale my games I brought I wouldn’t play on steam. They are just more of I’ll support you and have these games in my library but i want the full game not your all ages rubbish

Just keep playing whatever you can. I dont personally put down what games i’m going to play since then ill be stuck having to do them but I respect people like you who do. It gives you a good solid plan instead of having to spend ages finding what to play through the massive backlog

Wow just looked at your games and its very surprising to see under 100 games. Its sad to see that over a quarter you don’t even want to play but cant do much with that. Ive just deleted anything I havent wanted to play myself and it just gets me thinking how much money did I just delete off my account.

The games on my won’t play list are either very old ones I bought when I first started using Steam – eg. Super Meat Boy – or things I’ve pirated earlier (before using Steam and having regional pricing) and bought to support the developers since now I can, or freebies. I’ve also deleted a couple games that I’m sure I’ll never play or won’t ever need, but I’m still keeping some of it thinking it might come handy in the future, for example if I want to share my library with someone.

I have under 100 games because I’ve only recently started using Steam, and unlike a lot of people here, I don’t buy from bundles. Bundles are usually more expensive for me due to regional price differences, so it saves me a lot of money and space on backlog. I only shop through Steam, and do it during the sales, unless there’s a game I want terribly and is cheap enough that I can get it without a sale.

This is actually the first time I’m doing a monthly plan, since I joined the website roughly a week ago. I’m not holding myself accountable though. This is just to have an idea of what to play if I don’t have anything else in mind at that moment. I won’t force myself to play any of these if I’m not enjoying them enough to continue.

Edit: I have 2-3 games that are feature limited. I also will be playing them probably =D

Oh. Cant imagine not having bundles now. Before sg i didnt even know about bundles so I spent so much money on my games. Now i find it so much cheaper to even just get 1 game from a bundle then it is to buy on sale.

As an achievement hunter I can respect not playing a game. Ive stopped a few games before but then I see achievements ruining my stats and its like damn you I will get you soon! Well I wish yiu luck anyway that you will enjoy the ones you have left and maybe soon you can get some sg wins

Omg you dont wanna play walking dead. So sad. I wouldn’t really say its that scary. Im a total scardy cat so I avoid pretty much anything like that unless I played it in my childhood. However yeah there can be a few jumpscares points but overall they aren’t really bad and you can kinda guess when a zombie is about to jump out on you

I also wasn’t aware of bundles much before a couple weeks (when I joined SG). I knew of Humble Bundle but used it only once or twice. Sadly, the prices aren’t that cheaper for me, so no bundles for the most part–but I’ll still check them if I see something I like!

I’m not in hurry about SG wins tbh, because I only join to the GAs of games I’m really interested in playing, so I join less and less GAs each day. Thanks though =D I’m also recently into doing achievements, earlier I just played the game however I wanted. Now I try to get them if it’s easy/enjoyable enough. Not going to become a hunter anytime soon, but this added another layer of enjoyment for me =)

Good luck to you too! =D

Edit: I’ll check Walking Dead sometime, since you guys both like it so much. But not anytime soon =P

Divide by Sheep has lots of animal in it, so I’d say it totally counts for - wow, I never read that one before and was like, what is this? - the SG monthly (I’m sneaky. I’m doing the… eh… shorter one here :D )

So what is tempting you at the moment most?
Sadly I had hopes for the sale - yes, I was prepared to spent money! \o/ - only to realize they never reached my discount mark. So I didn’t buy a thing yet. Which is kinda frustrating. Did I really just now complain about not buying games? Damn, I guess that happened!

Well, what ever you play and how many, as long as you have fun with it, that’s all that matters! \o/
Happy backlog killing :)

EDIT: Also after Cece talked about looking at your games… And I must really protest about the Walking Dead being in your Won’t play list! shocked It’s one of my fav games! cries Can I do something to convince you?

aonrao

Calling it “the SG monthly” is definitely clever, I’ll steal it if that’s fine for you =D

Well, my original discount mark was also not reached, but I got a couple games that are very cheap for me, and they sounded interesting, so I thought why not. I kind of went overboard for myself, since I’m not a big spender on games =D Well, isn’t it good that you didn’t buy games? More time to focus on the ones you have!

Thanks =) Happy backlog killing to you too =P

And The Walking Dead is a mystery. I don’t even remember how it got into my Steam library, to be honest. I’m not into horror games–that’s the only reason I’m not planning on playing it. I get scared easily and rather not =D

ninglor03

It IS, isn’t it? :D
Take it, use it, spread it! \o/

Yeah, I’m doing this. Also I might just… buy myself a PPU DLC, but so far that’ll be it. So only eliminating games no buying them! :]

Ah, yes. I get this. I’m a sucker for horror games hide This one is not that much horror - I think. I had more scary games. But what’s the most important thing about the game: It has sooooo much feels and is soooo intense! <3 Also it’s the game which made me start read and watch the Walking Dead stuff, but what’s more: It was my intro into the Telltale games!
And honestly: Clem and Lee are just worth it! <3
But yeah, I get it. Scary games are just… stupid. But maybe try it and if it doesn’t work just… don’t. But rly, it’s an awesome game! <3
Ok, I’ll stop now. Sorry if I seem like I try pushing it on you hide

aonrao

You go eliminate them!!

I’ll see about The Walking Dead–but not anytime soon. This is the most I can give right now =D
