It’s Already Tuesday ? ~ Time Travel

Due to health circumstances, I’m not having enough energy to even go to some of my appointments, so it also affects the updates here.
Since I often ask for your opinion because you guys know and tested a lot of games I wasn’t even aware existing, I decided that I would do those updates in two parts. Part one I’ll pick the topic, discuss a little about it and part two I’ll add your suggestions because you guys share amazing games and it bothers me to update a topic people may not notice as being a week old.
And since it’s already Tuesday and I didn’t even notice when was Monday, we’ll speak of Time Travel and games where you manipulate time.

A question to begin with !

.. … …. Does Matrix bullet time is about slowing down time ? Asking because I never watched those and always wondered. I figure you guys may be able to answer !

About Time

This one was easy, I don’t know if you ever watched the movie, but I did enjoy it, there were some cute parts, some drama parts, some decisions to take and all in all it was a great movie.
Time is an element which always had its importance in games, it can be a real time limit like the good old Mario countdown, one of the characters can use it.. Or it just loops like Groundhog day. Now that I think of it, I wonder if there are more games taking in account time in a way or another than games in which time doesn’t matter at all. Even on some games such as Stardew Valley where you don’t control time (I think) and don’t suffer a time limit, there is still a notion of night and day, and you have to pick some of your activities depending on the hour of the day.

Time Management Games

I think we cannot avoid this category, which is even a tag on Steam, those are strategy games where you have to make a certain number of actions under the time limit given. Usually those finishing before the last tier of the timer gets a Gold score and 3 stars, then it lowers to Silver then finally Brass depending on how long you needed to finish the quests. There are so many which are bundled together that it’s almost impossible that you escaped that category of games, so I’ll only list a few of those which were bundled this year or the last one ♥ !

“Viking Saga: The Cursed Ring” is on my Won’t Play list because it doesn’t work on Windows x64 version. Thanks dev for not solving the problem while there are a lot of people asking for a patch.

Groundhog Day

If you didn’t watch this old movie (wow, I DO feel old suddenly), the Main Character is stuck in a Time loop which makes him revive over and over again the same day (which happens to be Groundhog Day). The movie was released in 1993 and I’m pretty sure we all watched it at some point. I think. (I’m so old ^^’).

Time is the Topic !

Of course there are games where the time is the main topic, since one of those is currently bundled on Fanatical, it may interesting you. I didn’t check much my games, I know there are some more, but that one (which I got

Time Travel

I don’t think there is anything else that scream CLASSIC beside Time Travel. A LOT movies and games plots are based on that, this time the list will be a bit longer.

I’m sure you guys know a lot of those games, maybe even different categories (I thought of adding Historical and Strategy such as CIV could be added another time, but who knows ^^ !). I also thought about free games but I didn’t try any so if you have some suggestions, don’t hesitate to make some. Of course you can suggest movies, books, musics, comics ! Anything really !

PS : Don’t forget that time is limited and it’s ok if you didn’t have enough free time to play the games you wanted to finish. It’s okay, after all, we have no power to slow it down or anything, right :) ?

When I was reading this it just got me thinking of plague inc. The whole thing is about killing earth as fast as you can to the point where if you take to long you can fail since there’s not enough people spreading the disease. I remember trying in the later ones where the time would be to fast that I struggled to actually change what would happen and Id either be slow spreading or it would be to fast. I cant really think of anything else but like papers please and 60 seconds.

Papers please you got to move fast since you want cash but you have to take your time looking over every single detail or you lose money. It really is about handling your time well especially at the start when you get the most money. Remember when I was jacksepticeye take forever on the 1st day and it was like dude u dont need to check anything! If you had worked fast you couldve easily got 20+ people through!

Then of course 60 seconds has the time mode to get the most stuff u can even though its never enough and the whole game will be based on that time aspect. There’s nothing you can do but hope ur rescue comes quick and nothing bad happens in all the days you waiting. you could wait 20 days or easily as much as 100

Alot of games can be considered to do with time, like dropsy for example. Based on what time it is, you can/cant do certain things. Even game of life can be considered like that if you go into the subject deep enough. Actual time travel though bit harder for me, I dont think I really got any of those at least none that comes to the top of my head. Of course I got life is strange and time mysteries. Oh actually adam wolfe involved time travel but as far as that I wouldn’t know.

Also never watched matrix either but heard alot of good things about it. However I havent started watching star wars im not about to touch matrix because then Ill need to touch every thing else

Some time-related games I’ve played:

  • Remember Me– one of my all-time favorite games, and has a “time remix” gameplay element where at specific times you can remix time to change an outcome.
  • Life Is Strange– probably needs no further explanation. Time element is actually pretty similar to Remember Me.
  • Gnomes Garden, Gnomes Garden 2, Kingdom Tales 2, Alicia Quatermain, 12 Labors of Hercules, etc.– classic time management games. Fun to play with the kids.
  • Chronology, Tick Tock Isle - puzzle-platformer with time manipulation element
  • Kelvin and the Infamous Machine, Perils of Man, To The Moon, Time Gentlemen, Please– point and click adventures with time travel
  • Spoiler Alert!: platformer when time runs backwards
  • TIMEframe- replay a calamity over and over again, learning more about the story each time
  • Various HOGs.

Since you are talking about time travel have you play the Back To The Future Telltale’s games. Unfortunately I don’t think you can get them anymore but for anyone who has them in their library… I’ve only played the first episode as of now but I really enjoyed it.

Since you spoke about it, I looked for a key and found one at $1 on a re-seller. What a good surprise, thank you for speaking to me about it !
