Heh, yea the Time limit for Dead Rising is annoying. Especially if you try to do all side missions in one run and saving all survivors. But I fear the game would have been far to easy otherwise. But they could have made a compromise so that one can set the factor in which time passes.

Also glad you like DreadOut. I think it is a nice game which excels in its atmosphere (the school in both parts is just wonderful). And you have to think a bit to figure out how to beat the different ghosts. Was interesting to get a bit of insight into this different culture. Surprised you got the story on the first run. I thought it was quite good but confusing. I find it sad that people bash the game just because the graphics are not up to highest standards. Additionally, Keepers of the Dark is not a Sequel but more an Inbetween. It reflects the part of the mirror world from the first game.

Heiluri

Indeed it does when you don’t know exactly where to go, shortcuts to there and might have quite bad weapons as well. Massive gatherings of zombies really slow down sometimes escorting and some npc need special care. Worst one was old lady, couldn’t carry her and had to hold her hand instead which is very to break. Game starts to feels like speedrunning and indeed would become like that if one decides to do all side missions an survivors o.o’ That on other hand would need several playthroughs and finding where each event is and in what order to do them, this is something i don’t like to do pretty much at all :F Still got most survivors and psychos done on 3rd run though it was really tight fit still. Yes i feel that as well that giving choice in changing original 7.2h? to higher amount would have been nice addition. Some psychos were quite challenging like gun shop one, but indeed without time limits game would have been quite much easier since wouldn’t have to rush through all of those zombies.

It’s pretty neat indie game and indeed liked how did they work out different ghosts, not all were defeated same way like you said :) Reminds bit of Silent Hill perhaps from what i remember watching friend playing it as little runt. There was those collectibles all over with some story though it was mostly about murders and weird accident eventually telling about possessions and creatures from nightmares. Story opened up pretty much at the end telling about the evil creature they were “protecting” or trying to keep under control, left me wonder about deads own rules at some point when you ask about it they become very agitated (their secrets) and at the end when teacher is apparently possessed and taking the evil away and other cutscene played felt like it would be sequel. Thanks for the info so will see soon if it answer for the dead part then :) Planning to play it in this batch, probably after next game o.-

Hmm from my view these graphics fitted into the game with their gritty visuals o.- Graphics aren’t the main thing after all, but can set partially feeling very right in horror game especially. Think they did in this game :)

Adelion

From what I read chances are that Miss Siska is not posessed at all but lead the school kids to the ghost town purposefully. She needed them (maybe as diversion) in order to free the snakelike creature. I’m not sure if it is Ouroboros itself but it has to do something with it which can be seen quite easily by the “O” in the title which shows the symbol of Ouroboros. On the other side the Lady in Red - one of the three sisters which sealed away the snakelike creature - used the time to make Linda her succesor as her powers reached there end. Meanwhile the second sister killed and posessed her friend (Ira?). Not sure what happened to the third sister anymore. I think she was the one you killed in the giant mirror room. But Ira and Linda have been chosen to be the next Keepers of the Dark. Although they would first have to find a way to get the monster from Miss Siska and her group back.

And some people have just some weird priorities concerning games. Nothing that can be changed …. Still loved the school part. That was intense.

Heiluri

Ahh that sounds quite solid theory indeed, thanks for telling it to me Adelion. Miss Siska somehow survived initial attack against her and then the 3rd girl is dead when Linda gets back with manor key and Siska is gone which would fit to the theory as well. Wouldn’t be surprised even if it’s Ouroboros and it looked like snake kind of tail at the ending cutscene. Yes 3rd sister was certainly the mirror ghost and one with Ira was 2nd along with Lady in Red as first and most powerful. Kind of wonder though if Ira was truly dead yet since 2nd wasn’t exactly hostile towards Linda, but certainly possessed as seen on talking phase with her (that was pretty cool). Indeed that why i presumed it would be sequel game, but guess it will come eventually in future :)

Will pick up the Mirror world DreadOut as next and see how it will be, somehow i suspect it will not be as good as first though o.- Yeah that’s true, would say every genre has something good for everyone if they would bother to try :) There is plenty of shitty games with good graphics after all o.o’ and quite often they can be among recent AAA titles even.

Wow, you’ve been busy! I haven’t played any of these, myself, but I like that you could find redeeming qualities and have fun, even with games that didn’t get fantastic ratings. I felt that way a few months ago when I played Bound By Flame. It had mixed reviews on Steam and I certainly wouldn’t say that it was amazing, but I still had fun playing it. :)

Heiluri

Or more likely not so busy except by playing games! :D Reviews aren’t something one should depend on only after all, best to check gameplay and other views by google since i have played several neutral games lately and enjoyed most of them, some were really entertaining in the end o.o Quite many things can after all affect those, fans not getting loyal kind of game in series, devs/pubslishers idiotic marketing/cheapness, broken game at release, too hyped. There is quite plenty in the end o.o’ Did play Bound By Flame some time ago and i understood where mixed reviews came from, played several games from these devs and like their games, but very big but there is gameplay since it’s usually not even close to the other aspects of their games and i value gameplay one of the highest properties in games. It’s enjoyable game, but becomes frustrating due gameplay (did you choose dagger path?), i did choose 2h sword and it was rather tedious way to play and game started towards end copy paste previous bosses as normal enemies on later areas (which respawned too) if not remembering wrong. But otherwise i though as well it was really nice game all over and would have had so much more fun if gameplay would have been better (which it would have been with daffer character already, from what i read) :D

Bet their newest game Technomancer would be quite interesting case too and will some day play it too when will get it (not very soon probably). Hopefully they have found some better way to implement gameplay since Mars: War Logs (for which Technomancer is prequel sequel) had as well rather simple gameplay :) Read that it has still those troubles, but like i said not to be trusty on reviews (haven’t checked any gameplay for example) :D

Kap

I did go with daggers (ranger skills as well as pyromancy spells) in Bound By Flame, so we probably had a different impression of the combat, but I also remember using the same pattern against most enemies (ignite my blades, make a few quick hits, time my dodge to get a riposte attack, etc.) The combat wasn’t overly complicated, but I remember having fun with it. :)

Regarding Steam reviews, I always glance at them to get a better idea of what a game is like, but I don’t use them as my only source of information, because many of them are just opinions (and just because someone else likes or dislikes something doesn’t mean that I’ll have the same opinion). :P

Heiluri

Read about it back then and indeed that was more apparently entertaining and variable build to play. 2H was pretty much blocking and swinging from what i remember o.o’

There are certainly good reviews and good reviewers around, but often games are rather polluted by bad ones. Use them partially myself as well if can find some that explains more about the game, it’s features etc without spoiling. Indeed you might end up loving something someone else doesn’t like at all. Noticed at reviews that people sometimes don’t give game pretty much any chance and post review before hour has gone o.o Usually play for 2 hours at least and then decide if it feels so bad that it’s time to remove it from Steam collection :D

Forsaken

I remember not wanting to play Gunpoint because it had pixel graphics and it was 2D. After forming Stealth Purists group on Steam and opening a recruitment topic on SG, I met someone who played and enjoyed the game. After my talk with him I decided to try it and I absolutely loved the game. Interestingly enough I loved the soundtrack even more than the game itself. I really enjoy Jazz music.

I watched my friend play Dark and it really didn’t catch my attention at all. Besides I don’t like it when a stealth game promotes violent gameplay but while sneaking. The only interesting thing about Dark was that the protagonist is voiced by Doug Cockle who also voiced Geralt from the Witcher series :)

Congratulations on your progress. That’s a lot of games you have finished which is awesome.

Heiluri

Played plenty of great pixel art games lately and just day ago got new one. In some games they can be quite turnoff and too simplistic and maybe it’s so in Gunpoint at first glance, but in the end they fit with game and are nice enough :) Indeed it’s quite well made little indie game all around and gives fun times for few hours or more if will go after better ratings. Music fit game as well :3

Some phases of Dark required you kill underlings as well, but guess that you can play it mostly without killing people pretty much like in Dishonored you must kill usually bosses from what i remember. should play it again with dlcs at some point, only played base game back in harr yarr years Game did give Max Payne like narrator feeling, but writing often suffered quite much, like mentioned about idiotics before there. They really did poop the feeling at points with it x.x Ah so it was Geralts voice actor then, character was more of the silent type, but did still talk at points. Reminded bit of Snake from MGS1, but truthfully not even close :D

Thanks :) Trying to keep up, got some nice sinusitis bactery/virus from friend so snotting/sneezing all over atm. Eating is quite annoying too and don’t feel like eating/drinking, but gotta force something down and take pill since head is feeling rather painfull right in the morning :D Did beat Banner Saga 2 and Costume Quest 2 and now playing The Chains of Satinav :)

Forsaken

Oh please feel better soon, I wish you a speedy recovery.

I’m taking a small break from gaming myself, not cause I don’t want to play because I really really do but my wrists are hurting a lot from excessive gaming this month so I’m afraid of this pain being a symptom of carpal tunnel syndrome so I want to rest my wrists and fingers as much as I can.

Did you like Banner Saga 2? Which one did you like more?

Ps, I hate boss battles in stealth games so Dark is already a no no for me :)

Heiluri

Thanks for the wishes, seems like starting to get better of it. Not feeling that hot/cold anymore and snot sneezes and coughing phases seem to be behind (this time didn’t have to suffer such bad coughing phase phew). It’s still on me, but much better :)

Ah yes i know what you mean and indeed best to give it good rest now and it might take a while, but it’s really painful to handle while gaming. Hope it goes to original state soon! :) Usually i have it only as muscle pain or nerve pain which affects whole hand, only other time was as i did stumble years ago at work and wrist took the impact which took quite long to heal (months) before could lean with full weight on it. If it keeps being annoyance best to look google from homemade solutions in case if doctor/medicinal ointments are too pricy, might find some good low price (even free) solution to it :3

Initially i did read somewhere that 2nd game is shorter and feels like demo, after playing it must say wth was that statement (apparently developing phase was troublematic). Yes it was good all around from my view and was good sequel to original game and gave interesting conclusions and answered to plenty of things what’s going on. Great game! would say that perhaps even lean towards 2nd game more o.-

Heh and bosses were rather idiotic in Dark as well :D At least first and second o.-
