Okay, you know, this game was in my backlog for a LONG time because even after I bought it (very cheap on sale) I kind of knew I was never going to play it - I received Stardew Valley very soon after and there was no going back. I’ve been avoiding some games in my backlog because I pretty much knew I wasn’t going to like them and I just wanted to postpone the hit to my achievement score.

But that ain’t what backlog killing is about! So when RNGesus gives me a game, I play!

… even if it ends up being about what I expected.

The RPGmaker engine is fairly weak here, and the graphics aren’t great. Moving around is a chore, and everything is too derivative for me to put the effort into uncovering the depth of this game - which I’m sure there is - by slogging through the beginning hours of every farming sim game I’ve played before. BLAEO user stef said she just kept going back to Stardew Valley and that’s a well-tuned Ferrari to a shuddering, bumpering Oldsmobile that’s this game. The first death knell came when a track of my favorite Harvest Moon game came on as I was playing this - the last death knell was when I found out the game was ported to PS4 and was on sale for like 7 bucks.

Madison is going to a conference on Saturday - my ass is going back to being seven again and playing this at my cousin’s house. I’m shelving World’s Dawn.

Next up: It’s been a while since I played a hidden object game!

See you soon!
