Surprise! I haven’t finished my hidden object game - I managed to clear Event[0] instead.

Now, what had happened was the first time I tried to play it I discovered my computer wasn’t up to the task. Since then, my girlfriend got a brand-new hyper-capable laptop… and it turns out she could run it. We took our afternoon today to play through it together, and I had a lovely time.

Event[0] is a game that was made for me. Retro-futuristic aesthetic spaceship setting, gameplay that is largely quiet and contemplative as you explore an interesting location, literally talking to a sweet if slightly suspicious AI… they’re weak points of mine, and they’re used to great effect. I really enjoyed talking to the AI, Kaizen, and getting sensible responses. I enjoyed being nice to him - and it really made a difference. I saw this for myself when I replayed some of the game to get an achievement related to being mean to Kaizen.

The moment to moment gameplay can be a little hard to follow, but seeing the plot unfold was really interesting and thrilling. The characterization - not just for Kaizen, but for the two human crew members who had originally embarked on the Nautilus (both ladies!!! both ladies!!!!) - were fully fleshed out and interesting. The game isn’t super crazyoriginal, but it does go in different unexpected directions and pulls off different things well.

There’s three endings, all in different directions, and all were satisfying and interesting. I don’t want to elaborate any further - this is a walking sim that’s better experienced going in blind.

Next up: Still working on my SG wins!

See you soon!

I love retro-futuristic visuals as well; that chunky, super clean 70s Alien aesthetic does things to me xD
It looks like my kind of game as well, but I was looking at the specs and I don’t think I can run it properly, hehe. Glad you had fun! :D

Yeah, I had to run it very much on low even on madison’s computer - while I think it’s incredible that it’s a college project turned professional product, I’m not surprised that their relative lack of experience translates into a game that isn’t optimized as well as it could be, so it’s a challenge to run.

Maybe someday, though!

Yesss this was a good game

My gf was incredibly taken by it - it’s been a full day and she’s still talking to me about it, sending me fanart, etc. She’s going to get it herself so she can tell Kaizen that she loves him.

What was your favorite ending?
