Back when I reviewed Elisa: the Innkeeper - Prequel I said - Long story short: I’m glad this was free, and I’m being generous because this was clearly marked as a demo. I hope the dev team took the time to polish what they had here for the commercial release.

Yeah, they didn’t.

This game was a strugglefest beginning to end, and what was kind of tolerable as a free demo became excruciating as a paid product. You have to play through the prequel again, with all the same achievements, though your saves and your seen text carries over. The second act on top of that (the third act isn’t even out! lol!) is unbearable. It’s long and the writing is so bad and everyone is a big asshole and so many typos and the art varies wildly (they had two artists do the CGs and one… really isn’t good).

My friends, avoid this. It’s not smart enough to be read for the story (not by far) and it’s not titty enough to be read for the titties. It’s just bad. I think probably the worst VN I’ve played. I didn’t actually finish - while I was away (as I’m wont to do) my computer restarted itself and I lost a chunk of progress. There was no way in hell I was rereading anything in this VN, so I turned off ‘skip only seen text’ and just read other, more interesting things until I got the other endings I needed.

I fear I may have to revisit this for achievements when/if the third act is ever released - but doubtless I’ll probably skip through it for those. A painful 100%.
