☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

This is a nice little mobile port that has the distinction of the ONE game with a timer that didn’t drive me completely off my rocker (it was only a little nerve-wracking). You live on an island that’s cursed by a witch: no one can leave, and whoever washes up on the island loses their memories when they speak to a villager, so they are stuck here, too. You become particularly cursed when you’re woken from your sleep by the witch, who tasks you to find her stolen urn by 4 am the next morning, or you’ll die a horrible death. That’s six hours. Go find the urn.

Those six hours are a generous amount of time to get all the game’s different endings, and slowly unraveling the mysteries of the game bit by bit is fun. Moving around the game takes a little getting used to, but once you know what you’re doing you’re zipping around the place like it’s the back of your hand. There’s some interesting plot movements, and it’s a nice game to play over an afternoon or two. There’s a free prequel episode that I liked a little less because it was somewhat more buggy and less responsive. This game is a bit of a hidden gem, and it’s worth picking up!

In other news: I’m GMing my first tabletop game tonight - Kids on Bikes, a narrative-focused game which is apropo for the season! I have a rocky history with tabletop games, mostly because I feckin hate being told what to do, but when my friends brought to my attention that, when you’re the GM, YOU set the rules - how could I not be enticed? We’ll see how much power my bossy personality is equipped to wield before it corrupts!

If anyone has any last minute advice for me, I’d love to hear it. My goal tonight is to just try to tell a story that pretty much culminates in one session - there’s a beginning, middle, and end. We’ll see how that goes!

Next up: I was debating playing this, and RNGesus selecting it only confirmed my choice. The theme continues!

See you soon!

Darkside Detective is a treat for anybody who plays it. IMO.

It is! I really like the little episodes you can get through in an hour. While I’m not enthralled with it, I AM enjoying my time with it, and the friendship between McQueen and Dooley is surprisingly touching.

Very nice. I believe they just had a successful KS campaign for season 2. So there is that to potentially look forward to as well.
