Holy shit - this is review one hundred. Since the very end of May until right now, I’ve removed (in one way or another) one hundred games from my backlog… and, I think, added about one hundred and fifty more! I had just under four hundred games when I started on this website.

I won’t get too schmaltzy - that’ll be for another time, like my backlog assassins cakeday or something - but I just want to thank everyone for the overwhelmingly positive responses I’ve gotten from people on here, and for the wonderful, supportive community that’s been fostered here. Thank you for remaining patient with me, both when I don’t post anything for like two weeks and when I post three times in a single day. Here’s to a hundred more, and to eventually overcoming my backlog!

Anyway: Endless Fables. One of two steamgift wins I was lucky enough to receive sometime this fall that I wanted to put to bed before the New Year. Artifex Mundi games tend to follow a similar pattern, and this one divorces from that pattern a little bit. There were a lot more timed achievements in this one, which put me off, but the trade off is that, conversely, the minigames and hidden object scenes were much easier in this game than in other hidden object games. If you’ve a very young or very old relative who is interested in gaming, this would be a good title to help introduce them where they won’t get too bogged down.

Your extra powers this game is interesting - as a descendant of Ariadne, you get her thread that can melt, revive, and dispell illusions. Unfortunately, the Artifex Mundi Lady does not make an appearance and the 3D animation is a little lacking. Bonus points for the achievement icons all looking like they were right off Greek pottery.

All in all, a middle of the road hidden object game that I nonetheless enjoyed anyway.

Next up: Another hidden object game, and my second of two SG wins I wanted to clear before 2017 ends!

See you soon!
