Everything of BomberZone will obviously remind you of Bomberman. Even so, if you try to not compare BZ to other similar games, you may enjoy it :)
At least, I did; even if there’s not much variety in it.
There isn’t a real story mode, you wander around this globe-like map with some objective to fulfill; doing so will promote you to a new level (military style), and achiements are all about gaining these levels. Not hard, you just need to play long enough to complete all objectives (some must be done in a single run, others are “stackable”).

Game pretty much goes like this:
You have 4 objectives to do, which (as said) will let you earn a new grade. Don’t know if they are randomly generated but they do not change between runs. You have those 4 and until you do them you can’t level up. Good luck getting easy ones.
On the map you’ll encounter enemies and their bases, trees and (un)destructible blocks (I may be forgetting something). You have a gauge that you fill by killing enemies (and their bases); fill it and you’ll be invincible for a while! :D
Basically, what I’ve done to complete objectives is: sneaked around killing easy enemies and bases until I started spinning around (it means you’re invincible) and then unleashed chaos over the map =P
Destroyed blocks can drop coins or power-ups. Use coins to upgrade character and powerups, use the latter to ease your run :)
Destroying bases will also unlock new areas to explore.

Of course, if there were no bugs, it would have been more enjoyable to play. And I’m stating this because I’ve been killed because of said bugs; not cool when you have to, let’s say, kill a lot of monsters in a single run and you get killed when you’re close to the goal and it’s not by any means your fault :\
No wonder very few users have unlocked its achievements. They’re, in fact, some of the rarest achievements I’ve unlocked, occupying 4 of 6 spaces in rarest showcase, but I didn’t feel like they were that hard. So, guys, go play it and help put its achievements in the right place =P

There’s no option to rebind keys.. may not be important but I sometimes pressed the wrong key ending in losing a life.
Mouse works only in the shop. Don’t know why.
A final warning about the “jetpack” powerup: it may stagger the position of your character. Don’t know exactly how it happens but I’ve noticed that happened only with jetpack; whenever I got that I stood still waiting for the effect to wear off.
I’ve also experienced infinite spin, where I continued spinning forever, even after invincibility ended, even after I was killed. Doesn’t survive restart though =P happened only once luckily. Also met undead/invisible-like threats a couple of times; they’re there but their body isn’t. Sometimes a small flame (residue of their explosion) was in their place, sometimes nothing (couldn’t tell if it was killed by me or just their model didn’t load correctly).
A pity, because the game has some interesting ideas/mechanics.

Small Planets was such an early 2000s gimmick. There were games like Pacman adventures in time all the way to Mario Galaxy, but a good chunk were clones like this one.
I remember one of them was a Worms clone, but in 3D on really small planets

EDIT: also…damn! congrats on that - 14 of 14 (100%)

I don’t know much of those times as my parents always prevented me to play when I was young :\
That reminds me of Crazy Planets, a facebook game I really liked but none of my friends played, so it was very hard to upgrade stuff :\

Thanks :) it’s not hard to do.. the trick is to not rush your run! if you have patience you avoid things like getting trapped/killed by the enemies or because of some game’s bad design :)

cbones - LINUX

I didn’t run into any bugs like you mentioned when I played this. I think the reason the achievements are so rare, is because so few people have bothered to actual play it. I agree with you, none were that difficult to get, and only moderately grindy.

Oh, lucky you :) ..could it be something related to OS then?
That one with the jetpack happened almost everytime I picked them up, that’s why I stopped moving whenever I got them :\

Yup, there are definitely harder achievements out there.. well, I guess it happens with most of “unknown” games since everyone tend to play renowned ones.
