I've heard a whole bunch of bad things about DMC Devil May Cry.
However I was still intrested in trying it and when a rlly nice person gifted me it I finally had a chance.
Naysayers be dammed that was actually really fun.
This is the game I wish OPPW was when I won it.
A hack and slash game thats more than just random button mashing where you can grapple around in the air and feel like a badass.
Honestly I liked the gamplay and the asthetics alot. Every area has broken debris gloating around in the air and a nice gothic type vibe. some areas were fliped around where everything was upside down and some had everything twisted and mishapen.
Being able to grapple around with my two types of grappling hooks was a real highlight-I think its what really stood out for me.
Beyond that the story was kinda ok and reminded me of a few things I liked when I was younger like the percy jackson novels. Nothing special and if it were a movie or novel I would have critisms on it but for a game where its purpose was to set you up for fights it did its job
The only thing is the characters. I feel like I would have liked them alot more like 5-6 years ago when I was going through my rebelious phase and listening to post hardcore shit
At this point they were kinda just there and I felt embarrased by some of the edgy stuff they through around.
In the end I did enjoy it alot and would totally recommend it for a throughly fun 10 or so hours but with the crevat that its a bit of an edge fest and not to take it too seriously.

Event zero was nice...
Until I went back for my second playthough and I had to be mean to Kaizen (the AI)
I was trying to get an achivement but it wasn't getting mad with all my simple insults.
So I had to think of worse and worse things to say. near the end I told KZ That nandi his favorite human never loved him and that the reason she died was how much of a loser he was etc
Honestly was really...tiering? I'm not sure I wasn't having that much fun to be honest idk maybe I'm just not good at insulting a bot
I guess it was still a good experiance as it shows you your humanity and stuff.

Lets see this is the Visual novel of the batch.
Its also my super hacky I'm totally cheating multi-use entrie beacause by completing it I'm satisfying the monthly theme as well as my challenge me and striking it off my ABC plan.
The problem is be honest I don't have much to say about it.
Like it wasn't bad. It was actually really well written and I'm deffenitly reading the second one.
But Idk. like it also hasn't stood out.
Fantasy used to be my favorite genre and I used to read a whole bunch.
But now? I'm not sure really.
I don't think Its just that I wished it was lewd I swear!
But it might have helped...
In the end its something I can safely recomend as a VN for people who are into that sort of thing but also not one of my favorites
Ah DMC still need to slay it from my backlog too. Fault did seem like a nice game but wouldn’t buy it for full price too

My 1st playthrough was full of “thank you kindly” and “I really like you Kaizen”. But then I was able to make him super pissed to the point that he was answering with 1 word “sentences”. So it’s sad if you can’t see those replies D: (But I had problem with one achievement, as even following video guides and writing exactly the same things as youtubers couldn’t force Kaizen to give me needed info).
yeah I restarted the first part 5 times trying to get the cheevo where he tries to kill you.
finally figured out if you continue a bit you reach the point where he won’t let you back out-if you say you are sorry or whatever he forgives you and the cheevo is null
but if you say “let me out or I will commit suicide” he lets you out then won’t let you back in again till you appologise getting me the cheevo!

Only played DMC from that list myself. Ran into a few bugs, but I can confirm that it is a good game to play for several hours. I wouldn’t want to 100% the game though.

I’f I’m completely honest each section is just programming…after all python doesn’t have arrays it has lists and unless you are using a bad module written in c its bascially impossible to get a seg fault lol.
Yeah theres no way I can see myself playing through several more times to get insane mode achivements and find all the collectables

I also really loved DMC. I think people usually say it’s bad because it’s not as good or similiar to the original games (which I’ve never played). Also spot on about the characters. I would have loved them about 5 years ago but not now.
I tried to play Event 0 but I had to restart a couple times due to glitches. The third time playing I got half way through and ran into a bug that broke my game and I had to start over AGAIN. I decided not to continue it because although I loved the premise, it is very tiring. I didn’t really enjoy it like I thought I would. I was mean to Kaizan by simply not thanking him and not listening to his instructions (such as when he asked me to wait before going in the room and I ran through anyway).
also where do you get the little symbols for your ratings? I love that they match the game you played.
yeah I think the bigest reason I’ve seen for people not likeing DMC is its “Not my dante” cause of how different the characters and storyline is.
Or how they hate that dante is half angel now and while I admit I liked all the angel mod fighting the story didn’t say much about them. It would have been fun if you could fight them too in a “Demons are unholy break everything and everyone raaaawwwrrr, then the angels are aloof arogant creatures that persecuted his parents cause of thire love and then like try to kill him. It would add a whole enemy type and could have some fun stuff idk.
also as for symbols…tbh just google images. and its actually alot of work!
mainly beacause I want them to match each other like this time I wanted them all to be pure black and another time they were all brown etc
at this point I’m useing the same template for all of my updates cause even though its not super super professional or whatever I still like it.
so copying in the new game doesn’t take too too long.
but finding score images actually takes an obscene amount of time for some of them lol
worst was that one I did gifs. the flower poped up as soon as I looked and I liked it but then finding a gif fr evil genome took like half an hour after that.
I’m watching anime while writeing it tho so its not too much of a waste of time.
