Dagon is done and dusted. This reminded me a lot of The 39 Steps inasmuch as it’s a narrated point and click graphic novel interpretation of Lovecraft’s short story. However, the developers included snippets about Lovecraft himself throughout the game as well.

The graphics themselves were cool looking and dark and the narration was very well done. Plus, it’s free, making it a no brainer to check out if you’re into Lovecraft at all.

It’s about a half hour commitment all told, maybe a splash more if you look for all the Lovecraft lore hidden in the game. It was also perfectly functional on the Deck, so I imagine it also has standard gamepad support.

One note: on the Steamdeck, I was unable to access The Eldritch Box DLC, which I’m sure a lot of us own from its inclusion in a Humble bundle. Despite the fact that it’s simply a ebook/audiobook version of Dagon and Fishhead plus some wallpapers, I would’ve liked to be able to access it via the Deck, but it was not to be apparently. IDK. Maybe I just need to do something different, but I doubt I’ll invest any more time into figuring it out.
