Update 9
Back at uni now, which means both more and less time for gaming depending on the week. This semester should be chill, but after Christmas I’ll have to write a dissertation aahhhhh. Gotta lock in now, applications for masters open up in a few days, I really need to figure out how to still have tons of time for gaming. As is custom here, the hero preset is reserved for 10/10 games and here we go with another one :)

I GIVE MY LIFE, NOT FOR HONOUR, BUT FOR YOOUUUUU….. SNAKE EAATEEERRR WOOOO
This is basically a 1:1 remake of mgs3, the only significant changes are modern smoother gameplay and nicer graphics. I think they did a phenomenal job with this, I had so much fun playing. It also integrates mkb controls nicely, you can't go wrong with using them instead of a controller, even though you get told that the game is best played with a controller when you first open it.
One of the biggest complaints people had about this game is the performance. Here's my experience with that. I played this on a RTX 4070 laptop on 2k resolution, with high settings. I did not encounter a single issue when playing, not even any frame drops in water heavy areas. The only problem that I faced was that it crashed on me while launching the game, like 3 out of 6 or 7 times. I don't understand why it happened when the game itself ran perfectly, but it might be something to keep in mind, but also if you get the game and have it crash on you when booting up it doesn't immediately mean that you can't run it.
I also think it's outrageous to ask for €80 for the standard edition when it's a fairly short game that you could just go and get the HD remaster version of for like 20 quid. Thankfully fanatical has it on sale for a more acceptable price.
Anyway none of these complaints affect my rating of the game, because the game itself is obviously a masterpiece just like the original, I don't think I have any reason to ever go back, especially since you can play this in legacy style or apply the legacy filter if you're craving the original vibes.
Very cute and cozy, was enjoyable and great to relax. Only reason why the rating isn't higher is cause it's veryyyy short and simple, but it's definitely a game worth a play. I love how goofy the writing is.
Pretty much same thoughts as the first game, though I liked the first one more.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is on pause since I’m not in the same country as my PS5 for a few months. Wind Waker and TOTK I’m still playing but only very occasionally, they’re annoying to make a box for since they don’t exist on steam. I’m also kind of playing Hollow Knight, but not too committed yet.
No new backlog additions this time I think.
