Rain on Your Parade was a pretty fun little experience. It’s made up of a lot of short levels that are only about a minute or two long mostly, and the core concept is that you’re a cloud that moves around and rains on people. With so many levels, you’d expect it to get repetitive quickly, but the game manages to keep things fresh by constantly changing up the formula and introducing new ways to play, mixing in things like bullet hell dodging levels or tower defense, on top of tons of others. The levels also feature a lot of references to other media like TV shows, movies, and games including things like The Office, Counter-Strike, and Metal Gear Solid, which I thought was a fun way to increase the variety in the settings of the levels.
I only had a few minor gripes with the gameplay, one of which was that for the objectives that needed you to do a certain amount of a particular thing, for example in the school level it wants you to water all the backpacks, it was sometimes annoying when you missed one to then have to scour the whole map looking for it. Most maps were fairly small though, so this was rarely an issue. Other ones relate to specific levels, like in the zombie uprising level, the zombies are quite slow so you have to wait for them to catch up to the cloud, or in the weather channel level, I lost track of which one the weatherman was, which made it harder to get the objective for rolling the weather man down the stairs. But like I said, those were only minor things and overall, I had a good time and I would definitely recommend picking up this game.
