October 2026 Report
Well this was a very hectic month for me as I frantically tried to keep up with several different events and keep on top of my won games. I managed to scrape through with everything I had planned, but it took pretty much every available moment of free time that I had. I also added way too many additional games to my backlog, so RIP my completion stats.

I played most of this last month, but I finished it at the very beginning of this month. The TL;DR is that Solasta is a really great D&D 5th edition emulator; you can use the game to create your own campaigns or to play campaigns created by other players and have them work very similarly to the TTRPG. It is a much more faithful adaption of 5th edition than something like BG3, for example. The actual game (in other words, the campaign that was designed by the devs) is more barebones, but was still pretty fun (albeit, not overly memorable). I intend to pick up the DLC at some point and see if those campaigns add a bit more originality to the generic fantasy plotline.
Steam Review for full thoughts. This was a win from TGC.
The TL;DR is that FFXVI is a visual spectacle unlike anything that came before it in the series but is also a pretty big departure from previous main entries in the series. They went with a much more gritty, medieval-European vibe rather than the more whimsical JRPG tropes. The combat is also a significant departure from its turn-based roots, even more than FFXV was. Despite the changes--and the truly egregious number of cutscenes--this was still a really fun game. I beat the main campaign and all the available side-content and now I need to go back for my NG+ run.

I've had this in my backlog a while now, but I got around to it as part of MiaM. The TL;DR is that this game is a strong continuation of what was set up in RE7. The action heavy parts of the game weren't particularly frightening, but there were enough stealth and puzzle-focused parts that Village maintained its survival horror roots. Obviously, it took a lot of inspiration from RE4 but not to its detriment. It may be the only Resi game where I don't say it is a perfectly good jumping off point for the series--you really should play RE7 first.
Steam Review for full thoughts. This was a gift from another SG user (Thanks Catzz!) but not an official win.
Tl;dr: very cute little puzzle game with a fun soundtrack but terrible combat. Also, the voice acting got a bit strange at times. I had a lot of fun with it, but the combat was frustrating enough to take me out of it a bit. It was interesting enough that I am contemplating picking up the sequel despite the flaws.
Steam Review for full thoughts. This was an XYR win.
Tl;dr: this has been on my wishlist for some time now as I really enjoyed the developer's other game Gris. It is a very gentle platformer with an absolutely beautiful art style and a lovely score accompanying it. It's not quite as unique as Gris was, but I actually thought it was even more beautiful. I beat it within 24 hours of winning it. Definitely a recommend.

Plan for November
Wins, wins, gotta beat those wins! I need to at least beat Lorelei and Back to the Dawn and I hope to have time to complete FFXVI although that is of less importance since it is just my NG+ run. I also need to get two more points for Playtracker’s season but I’m not sure what games I am going to do for that yet. Probably focus on my personal challenges and grab the required achievements from FFXV and Remothered.

Congratz, pretty liked Doom (2016) & Framed Collection on my side so hope you will like them :)
