Update 1 ~ 16/10/2019

Hello everyone, here’s my first update here since getting added recently. I’ll try to post here when I can, though I promise no regularity. For starters I’ll just go with the past couple of days since I’ve been on a slight kick in working on games. I haven’t quite figured out all the fancy formatting stuff, so any help there will be appreciated.

I’ll try to explain how I get through my games briefly, so I can get to the update. At the moment I have two queues running in parallel for Steam games, games I want to play, and games that I can quickly blast through for cards, and I’ll keep playing if I enjoy the game. Both of them are chosen with a random number generator off of a list that I have, and I’ll play until completion or boredom, whichever comes first. I have a few other lists, but I don’t really have much time for them between school and non-Steam games atm.

Beaten games

  • Slay the Spire

    95 hours playtime

    29 of 44 achievements

  • Q.U.B.E. 2

    5 hours playtime

    14 of 29 achievements

Saying beaten is kinda odd for Slay the Spire due to how it works in general, being a roguelike and all, but I beat the heart for the first time recently so I’m probably gonna put that one on break for a while due to the massive time-sink it can be. This one is off my for fun list, so I’ll be able to move on to another big game that’s caught my eye.

Q.U.B.E. 2 I got through the main story and got all the achievements besides one that you can get without the DLC, so I’m fine marking this one as complete until I get the DLC. The game was ok, so it’s not a particularly high priority DLC to get.

In Progress

  • Children of Zodiarcs

    19 hours playtime

    22 of 40 achievements

This is my go-to for fun game at the moment, and I’m doing a hard no-death run to try to get as many achievements in as few playthroughs as possible. Cards, dice, and tile maps are all features of games that I enjoy, so I’m glad I chose this one to skip the queue when I got it.

Grind & Drop

  • Samurai Wars

    2 hours playtime

    no achievements

  • GRID 2

    4 hours playtime

    8 of 60 achievements

  • Fortified

    5 minutes playtime

    0 of 23 achievements

Samurai Wars advertised having both single-player and multi-player modes, but the single-player wasn’t like a campaign or anything, it was more of a training mode for the multi-player mode. Then the multi-player mode’s matchmaking didn’t find anybody else to play with, which I didn’t find particularly surprising given the reviews and quality. I got it with a coupon so I only lost a little bit, and got the cards and a chance at card drop in exchange.

I don’t remember exactly where I got GRID 2 from but I know it was either free or from Humble Bundle, because I am Not Interested in the more realistic racing games. It was good for what it is, but I really just could not care about playing it any further.

And then we hit Fortified, which I could not even get running properly, as the game constantly forced itself out to my desktop, and any attempts to tab back in were quickly met with looking back at my desktop again. I’m currently idling for the cards as it seems abandoned by the devs, so rip this game. Thankfully it was another free one, this time from LootBoy.

Upcoming

  • Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1

    0 minutes playtime

    0 of 45 achievements

  • Lux Delux

    0 minutes playtime

    0 of 27 achievements

I’ve played the mainline Hyperdimension Neptunia games for PS3, but I heard that the combat system for this port was revamped to the one used in the later games. That plus the new stuff added in the port and DLC that I got bundled with it when I got it mean I still have a decent amount of content to look forward to, probably. This is the next for fun game, though two RPGs in the In Progress section might not be helpful to my style of playing.

Lux Delux on the other hand is from my card grind queue. I like board games, but this looks like Risk, which is one of my least favorite board games, and it’s got a bunch of “win games online” achievements, which I don’t like doing even for games and genres I enjoy.

Well that’s it for this update, I’ll be back to update soon(-ish) [maybe].
