There Was A Caveman (Mar. 30th)
A SG win that I attempted to play a year ago but I got stuck on the second world. After trying this one level a couple hours I set it down, but wanted to give it another go. I restarted it from the beginning this time and something must've clicked, because I got past the level easily enough. This game is brutal though. I love platformers, but I'm far from the best. While I liked this game and am really glad I gave it a second chance, it was also really frustrating to play at times. I have a hard time playing games for long periods of time, so I need checkpoints and the ability to set games down. Games like Super Meat Boy for example are tough, but I had fun getting A+s on every level because they were short. If I needed to take a break or play again later I could pick up right where I left off. There Was A Caveman has 3 to 4 mini-levels plus a boss per world. While there are checkpoints after each mini-level while playing, if I were to shut the game down right before the boss I would have to replay the entire world all over again. This put so much more pressure and frustration when stuck on a level, because I knew I wouldn't want to redo everything and lose momentum after finally getting past a tricky part that took me 45 minutes. But yeah, besides that major complaint for my style of gaming, it was a fun difficult platformer that I was really satisfying to beat. It reminds me a lot of the games I used to play as a kid, when it was great playing hard games and having to redo levels loads of times because you only owned so many games and endless free time. :P

The Plan (Mar. 30th)
Funnily enough the day before playing this game I'd had a long conversation about perspective. How aliens/other beings would see us, how all animals see things differently. I'd also just read Norse Mythology, so I was wondering how giants and other fantastical creatures would see the world. (Oh the thoughts you have at 3 am when you can't sleep. haha) It was pretty cool timing picking up this game afterwards, got me thinking about it again. While the game is very short, I thought the sounds and overall atmosphere were done so well.

Goat Simulator (Mar. 31st)
Another SG win that I've played on/off since December, but I realllly got into it this week. I loved this game the more I played it, each map better than the last. GoatVille is okay but very basic, City Goats Bay was good, the MMO simulator was brilliantly done and the Payday DLC was incredible. I completed all of the possible achievements without buying the other 2 DLC except for Flappy Goat. Ahhhhhh the hitbox is so big and Flappy Bird is already irksome enough without a tougher version. I tried for about a half hour and my highest score was 4, so I gave up for now. My only complaint is how buggy the game is. I know that's kinda the point and they're in there on purpose, but I had to redo several extended quests 3...4...5 times because it would glitch out (ie: the person I had to rescue would repeatedly completely vanish, the final battery I'd pick up would randomly fling into oblivion and I'd have to go get the previous 5 again). Often whenever you hit a wall (especially in MMO/Payday) you'd get stuck swimming beneath the world. I'd say a good 4-5 hours of my playtime was due to bugginess and having to restart the map. I had to laugh though, it definitely brought me back to the days of playing super buggy MMOs. Loved all the references, had me laughing out loud many times and was super enjoyable just flaffing about.

Worms Pinball (Mar. 31st)
Not much to say, a subpar pinball game. The controls weren't always responsive and it was a bit hard to tell what exactly was going on at times. It's okay, fun enough to play but would find a better one if I'm ever in the mood to play pinball again.

Other games I've been playing on/off: The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing, Rocket League and Killing Floor 2

Side note: I'm not sure how Rocket League matchmaking works...if it's just because I was on a big winning streak or completely random, since I only play casual matches. But I went from playing with Semi-pro (me)/Pro people, to everyone!!!! but me being Master/Legend/Rocketeer. Needless to say I went from being at the top of the scoreboard straight to the bottom haha. I knew I was bad at the game but man, that sure put me in my place. The chat also went from really naïve and friendly to nonstop trash talking (I knew it was strange how nice everyone was being and couldn't last long!). But yeah, even when playing with high levels I got carried...so I won like 19 out of 20 games. Let's hope I start getting matched with noobs people of my own skill level again. :P

Yay, someone else that liked Goat Sim! Usually when someone sees how many hours (32 at the time) I’ve put in this game, they laugh at me, lol.
I liked MMO Sim the best so far! Still need to play the Payday DLC, and got the Space one yesterday^^
I have the Flappy Bird achievement, but I’m not sure how I got it. There was a game that totally bugged out and immediately gave me the achievement, but that also might have been SteamWorld Goat. I think I also used this mod once, but it was in 2015, it seems to not work anymore.

Anyway, nice progress!

Yeah I’d heard some mixed things going into Goat Sim, but I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun it was. Ahh I hope you enjoy the space DLC! I’ve been contemplating whether or not to buy it since I’m pretty low on money atm, but I might have to pick it up since it’s on sale….especially since I’m still in a Goat Sim mood. :P

I think the humor only gets better with each Goat Simulator expansion. The Space expansion is no exception. There are many great references to Sci-Fi movies and games in addition to the typical modern and pop culture references. There are also some very challenging things to do, like flying a space ship with only goat feet to handle the controls.

I also have not managed to get the Flappy Goat achievement. I’m pretty sure it is the only achievement from the original base game that I’m missing.

Glad to hear, thanks for letting me know! I just bought it after selling some steam cards. Can’t wait to play, should be a blast. :)
