Code Vein is done and dusted. Quite fun. Definitely added a heavy dose of Bloodborne and Dark Souls, and actually, to my amusement, the menus are all basically the same as any FromSoft game lol. That said, this game definitely has its own identity, and mixes Soulsborne with gritty horror anime quite well. The story is crazy, but also super cool, the graphics are pretty stunning, the gameplay is on point and with some cool and unique nuances. The character customization depth is already becoming a bit of a meme lol, but yeah, you can pretty much create any look you want. Also, the ending definitely left room for an expansion at the least, if not a direct sequel, and more than one person in the forums has observed that Code Vein and God Eater could easily be in different parts of the same world. I haven’t played a God eater yet and can’t really speak to the association, although I definitely will play 2 very soon. Anyway, definitely worth the price of entry. There are apparently three endings and a true ending. I got the “Dweller in the Dark” ending (which is apparently the true ending), which was pretty awesome in my estimation. I was pleased with it. Oh, and there are so many potential custom builds that you could really geek out on this game like people do with FromSoft games as far as trying new builds while potentially going for all four endings.
