Week #3 - 13 (April 17 - July 2, 2017)

First off, I’d like to apologize for my inactivity, but I had some personal issues to take care of. Now that I’ve dealt with those problems, I can continue dealing with my backlog, which has grown tremendously in the past 3 months. I have nothing but time on my hands though, so I think I can do a good job during the summer.

I’m going to keep this quite short, and not do much formatting, since I need to get some sleep very soon. Keyboards are never comfortable pillows.

I’m probably just very dumb, but I got stuck in Dark Heritage after I got through the maze. Time to hunt down a walkthrough I guess. At least the game isn’t giving me blue screens like Escape the Past did. Twice!

I have nothing but time on my hands though

*Jealous*

Nice job with the HOGs. I hope a lot of them were during June for the HOG monthly theme. =)

Wow, that’s a lot of SG wins– impressive! There are several games I’ve played in your New Additions list, including several of my SG wins (Chronology, Doors, The Turing Test, Munin) and several that were not (Refunct, Costume Quest 2, and TurnOn). I enjoyed all of the games I just listed, so off-hand I’d say you have a pretty fun time ahead of you. Thanks for the update!

Seretti

Jealous of my free time? Oh, man… I’d do anything for a full-time job since playing games doesn’t pay the bills, which are just piling up. xD

I just realized that I forgot to change the dates for the new additions, so that’s fixed now. Maybe someday I’ll learn to stop entering giveaways so I can actually make a dent in my backlog. HOGs are usually very short though, so I started with them to make it look like I’m actually making great progress.

I’m really looking forward to trying The Turing Test, although I’m nervous that it won’t run. Just yesterday my gpu got fried, so I’m stuck with a moody GTX 560 at the moment. Chances are that I might have to postpone some gameplays to a far-away future. Might take me a year or so to save up to a new decent gpu. Oh, the joys of being poor. :D

Trent

Fair enough– I suppose the reason for free time is kinda relevant… :3

I ran The Turing Test on a GTX 750ti and had zero problems…I’m not sure of the relative difference between the two exactly, but this list shows the GTX 750 ti as 1,825 and the GTX 560 as 1,235. So…I guess that doesn’t seem like a big difference??

Seretti

I’m not really that tech savvy, but GTX 560 is minimum requirement for Turing Test, so should work. The problem is that my card seems really moody and sometimes games just won’t run no matter what. I once tried with another 560 and many games worked perfectly. Once I installed my own again, no dice… But yeah, I’ve been in touch with the local PC store, and they’ll let me know if any affordable (read: used) gpus come in, in the near future. Payment plans are a lifesaver :D
