Aquilla

Finished in October (1, 2)

I have reaaally though month at work, so I cannot play as many games as I want to. It’s near the end and I finished just those two, and, once again - both of them are not on Steam. I was given a bunch of games on Itchio, expect at least some of them here in a next couple of months.

Minit

7/10

It’s a solid little game with a nice idea. Basically you have a minute of life, and then you die. But a lot of things you did will stay after your death. So you are running frantically, trying to do as many things, as you can, and progress through the game. There is a bit of metroidvania vibe - in one run you get access to an axe, so in the next you can cut trees and open new paths… I liked it, but it was so short, that I feel just a bit of wasted potential here. Nonetheless - a good game.

Doodle mafia

4/10

I liked the first Doodle game. It was simple, but enjoyable. Basically you had a couple of elements, and through mixing you were trying to make everything in the world (fire and water makes steam, steam and engineering makes engine… this kind of stuff). Doodle mafia has a very similar premise, but with gangster/crime theme. It was starting fine, but quickly the matches became so ridiculuos, that you need to be fortune teller to guess them. Last third of the game was basically me waiting for a clue, making one match, then waiting a couple of minutes for next clue, because the only other option was trying everything on everything. matches were ridiculuos, and very inconsistent (I needed to make a “car thief”, I literally had thief and a car, but it wasn’t correct combination. The correct one was car and robbery…). It was clearly designed for monetization on mobiles. I even collected money, with which I couldn’t do anything, but maybe gambling to have more money. At least the artwork was decent….
