has been a while since my last update but i finished 4 more games

Flat Kingdom Paper´s Cut Edition - beaten
this was a nice little game, maybe a little to easy except the giantwolf boss, that one was seriously annoiing. while it was enjoyable i won´t grind for the kill X amount of this or that monster achievements.

Cursed - 100%
more of a point and click, story was okayish - good to fill an afternoon with nothing to do.

Stray Cat Crossing - no achievements but finished
this one was a surprise, as i wasn´t expecting a horror game and am normally not fond of them but the story was interesting and the pixelgraphics were lovable enough to keep me going.

Seasons after Fall - 100%
Okay i probably expected to much from this one, but i was a little let down. It looks beautiful and the music fits the game well, but the mechanics could have been way better (puzzles were easy enough but sometimes it was just a drag to do something or to move from spot a to b because of all the switching and stuff). What was also annoing was that there is no minimap or map at all - so half the time i was lost or had to search around way to much in my opinion. I won´t say anything about the stoy, cause i won´t spoil it, but i wasn´t to happy with how it went. it is a nice agme but i would wait until goes on sale to be honest (like at least 40 or 50 %).

Great completions! These were all games I was interested in (2 I had in my wishlist but removed, 2 I still have up there) so it’s great to see someone write about them. :)

Hearing about the grindy achievements in Flat Kingdom just reinforces my disappointment. :P Yeah, will pass on it unless it’s bundled good. How was the story? Did it progress well or was it just platforming & bosses?

Sorry about Seasons After Fall. :/ I don’t get why so many modern games don’t have proper maps! I’m currently struggling with Epistory’s map – it’s there but it’s bad. From what I’ve imagined Seasons After Fall to be, the lack of map sounds totally disappointing. Will definitely wait for heavy discounts.

Congrats and good luck with your next targets!

Flat Kingdom was more or less just the platforming. there was story and you can collect a lot of scrolls which tell you more about it, but it´s the boss fights who will make you go on (just to see if you can beat them).

have epistory from the monthly and wanted to try it soon, but will now wait after i read that the map is not really helpful.

Started on Count Lucanor and am really happy with what i have seen for now.

Okay, thanks! That makes me feel more at peace with removing it from my wishlist. I’m not too into boss-based games.

With Epistory you don’t really need the map until the later stages (grinding, collecting the “X all Y” -style achievements). There is also one powerup you can buy which shows you the nearest point of interest. I liked that and it was helpful. :) The map is very much like a ‘real’ map with colourcodings and all, but where I despair with it is that somehow I never know which way I’m headed. I move a bit and then check back to the map. Also, in scenes where there are multiple levels, you pretty much have to remember or guess which point moves you where.

I’d say the map is definitely not the reason to not pick Epistory up. ;)

Oh, you already completed Seasons after Fall. Nice :3 Congrats!
