Update 162: October 2026
How is this year running past us D:
Adorable Adventures is a charming game centered on Boris, a super cute little wild boar on a mission to rescue his siblings and free his mom after a forest fire.
The core mechanics are genuinely fun and make playing through the main story a delight. I only have one thing I did not really like, some extra tasks are poorly explained, and mandatory racing speed trials feel totally out of place compared to the relaxed pace of the rest of the game. I ended up skipping those extra trials, but the main story itself remains a lovely, heartwarming adventure.
The Divine Invasion feels less like a complete video game and more like an unfinished, broken alpha test. From the moment you jump in, the controls are frustratingly unresponsive, routinely ignoring inputs mid-action. Combat is next to impossible—not because of intentional difficulty, but because fundamental mechanics are completely busted. The hitboxes are virtually nonexistent; your weapon swings clip straight through enemies without registering damage, while invisible phantom attacks hit you from across the room. Without functional controls, working hitboxes, or polished combat systems, it feels completely unplayable in its current state. Save your time and stay far away.
Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical is a delightful narrative treat that hits far more high notes than lows. Combining modern Greek mythology with interactive musical theater is a bold pitch, and the game pulls it off with serious heart.
While not every single musical number lands with equal impact, the branching song structures and choices carry enough emotional weight to keep things engaging throughout. Exploring how different choices shift the narrative made unlocking every possible ending an absolute joy.
I’m still missing the Orpheus DLC for total completion, but the base journey was well worth every curtain call!
Playing through the original release of DOOM 3 today is an intriguing time capsule, though its age still shows. The core gunplay holds up well, and while swapping between your weapon and flashlight didn't bother me, it’s understandable why that mechanic turns off plenty of players.
My biggest hurdle was the relentless obscurity—the pitch-black hallways make it genuinely hard to see where you’re going, turning navigation into a guessing game. I’m rarely impressed by horror games to begin with, so the extreme darkness felt more tedious than terrifying. Still, as a retro sci-fi shooter, it’s a solid, okay ride.
